Anyone else just get confused?

Is this a serious question , does a bear sh_ _ in the woods ? Of course i get confused and not just about vaping , i'm talking everything. I get confused when i see someone make a turn in front of me without using their blinker but then after they make the turn they put their blinker on , that confuses me.

I feel your Pain and I feel over whelmed also. I just started vaping for socialization with friends and Masonic Brothers and my wife,, I never smoked and I bought her a starter kit local and I ordered a Halo Triton starter kit as it had great reviews well I did not tell my wife and well I ordered it on the 16th and got it Sat. before fathers day I got it charged batteries and filled the tank up Sunday morning (fathers day) and took one puff my wife said you like it? I said yeah it's ok... Well a good thing and a bad thing. She bought me an eleaf Istick 20w and some Kanger glass tanks. I filled them up and it was ok. A masonic Brother let me puff on one he had a 50w with Kangertech Sub Tank Mini.. Well I had to have it now I am upset I spent $85.00 on Halo Triton and I could have bought something I wanted LOL... Well one week into vaping and already on a 20w Subtank LOL I see where this is heading... But yeah it does get confusing and agravating now have a Halo I wish I could sell to get a 50w Mod.

Welcome @MotherOfCats :) (I am also a Mother of Cat ;) )

It's a journey, for sure, if you feel that it has to be. I successfully quit smoking with a Spinner and an EVOD. I have only "upped my game" because I'm curious and I want to try new things. Many others are still running with the same setups with which they started. Try to think about what you want to achieve with your vape, and then it's less confusing :)

Yeah, I am curious for sure so that is why I am looking. Out of curiosity are you a Purdue person?

You may want to give some thought to what your vaping future is going to be like, otherwise you could end up buying some things that are a minor step up, just to find that you're taking another step up sooner than you thought, and spending more money. One good thing though, it's always nice to have backups, electronic devices fail and you DON'T want to be stuck without a vape.

If you're looking for a single step up, battery wise, you can go with a vv stick battery like a twist/spinner or one of the rectangular vv's OR you could go for one of the "box" type with a built in battery like the MVP line or istick line. Those you don't have to worry about getting separate batteries and a charger, and they all have ego and 510 threading so they'll fit whatever toppers you want.

As for the topper, if you're not ready for rebuildables, then you're sticking with the clearomizers and you've got a few decisions to make there too. Top coil or bottom, which it seems you already know you like the bottom. Then glass or plastic. Then what resistance range do you want, and that kind of depends on what battery you're using. Sub ohm tanks require batteries that can handle sub ohm coils. I'd recommend sticking with the 1.2ohm + range of coils. I've heard the nautilus and nautilus mini are good, though I'll be honest, I haven't used a clearo in over two years.

Like any hobby, it takes me a bit of organized learning. One thing that I did early on was to make a list of terms and products that I did not know when I was just reading the "what's New" posts. Then I just used the search bar or asked, AND, I wrote it down for reference.

For I while I dumped reference posts in my blog so that I could come back to it, but now, more so, copy it to my desktop. When that starts to get full, I just spend time reviewing and moving the better stuff to storage.

Today, I was learning and chatting. I am grateful. I try to have patience with others and I hope they have patience with me. Making fun of others is just a form of bullying.

Vaping is a big world. But, it is a healthy world compared to smoking.
Hah! I'm the same way with new hobbies. Sometimes I spend so much time researching that I finally just have to stop and just do it. It has lead me into so really great hobbies, though. Next up is fishing and hunting, but that's another story.

I have been googling terms and searching on these boards for quite a while. It took me a couple months of lurking to finally just sign up and ask away.

It has helped me to be able to sit and talk for clarity. I have a couple of friends that are vaping. Like me, I think there are many that don't want to get a trailer hitch for an oxygen tank.
I wish I knew others who vape. The only other person I knew who vaped knew even less than I do now and she did it for a while before giving and going back to analogs. When just mentioned starting she straight up told me things that my very like research proved absolutely dead wrong or inaccurate. So right away I discounted her for a reference.

I went from buying a Zig-Zag (rolling papers brand) "pen" with no knowledge beyond impulsive curiosity at a gas station, to rebulding coils, safely usinf sub-ohm tanks on mechanical mods (shiny metal tubes) and learning electrical concepts that i thought were always beyond my comprehension.

Its a head-spinner sometimes, but its fun to have a real-life motivation to learn something useful (and for safety's sake).

The first time i tried a friend's sub-ohm/high-power rig, i knew i needed to move beyond the pen. He helped me pick out a regulated box mod (variable voltage and wattage, capable of firing down at 0.2 Ohms and with power up to 30 watts) with an Aspire Atlantis tank.

Whole new world.

Then, i got a Kanger SubTank Mini, that has the rebuildable option included in the box.

Then i bought a mech mod, not knowing what it was, with a no-return policy in the store. That led to a few gadget purchases (battery, charger, wire, cotton, etc.) and weeks spent tinkering, troubleshooting, learning, improving, and chasing the flavor dragon.

So. It comes down to many choices to narrow down... but mainly: do you want to have a new hobby, or do you want convenience?

With the hobby route, the sky is the limit snd you will find many fun surprises and distractions. You will also learn some useful and widely applicable concepts about electricity and variable adjustments/practical problem solving.

The convenience route would be (at minimum to fully enjoy tasty heaven) to buy a box mod that fires up to 30 watts, thats regulated for safety but can run with low resistance coils. For that, my first setup was perfect: Innoken mvp 3.0. Easy to use, completely plug-and-play, and requires no tinkering to keep working and working well (plus, it charges phones and other usb devices). I topped that off with the Aspire Atlantis tank with 0.5 Ohm coils, max VG juice, 6mg nicotine and i just adjusted wattage or voltage until i found the sweet spot between flavor and nicosting.

Down the rabbit hole we go. We're all mad here. Welcome aboard!

So with same volts, if there is a lower ohms, then I get more power, and more vapor, right?

Yup, but most people use only the wattage settings on their vaporizers. The nice thing about all this newer equipment is you can dial in your wattage and the device will automatically calculate the voltage it needs to get there. And if you change tanks and the coil is a different resistance, it will automatically calculate the new voltage required to achieve the same wattage.

If you're used to the regular mouth to lung hits, a nice step up would be an iStick 30 and a Nautilus mini. You'll still be doing mouth to lung but the flavor can be dialed up to really knock your socks off compared to the clearomizers you are used to.

I'm actually really looking for flavor, so maybe that is what I need to look into. Flavor and throat hit are my two things I "need".

I feel like the more I look and try to learn, the more confused I get. Then I just want to bash my head into a wall and just give up on the whole damn thing. Trying to decide on a better tank than my cheapo ones and I'm literally overwhelmed by it all. Sub-ohm, low resistance, standard resistance, bottom coil, top coil...Will it work with my current battery? Won't it? What is a VV voltage battery and why do I need it? Why won't one tank work but another that looks the same will? There is so much out there and not one website says things the same way as another! Gah!!!! :-x

ARE OH EF EL !.:lol::lol:

I was saying something along the same lines just the other day about how confusing it must be to sift through information whilst researching vaping hardware. Just bouncing from one forum to another tryin to find information and just wind up more confused with all the conflicting advice from everyone.

The answer is to spend some money, make an investment in some good hardware.
I couldn't recommend anywhere to you, you're in the USA and i'm in the UK.

Though i would say you should just take the plunge on a high powered box mod, half a dozen batteries and a good charger.

Maybe an IPV4 100 watt box mod

Or a Segelei 100 watt plus box mod

Some Sony VTC4 batteries.

A decent Xtar dual bay charger.

A great place to start !.

Those are variables that can be acheived with a high powered box mod. Why ?. Well with a high powered box mod you can choose to either use a lot of power, by turning it up, which will provide a lot of flavour and vapour with very low nicotine juice, or you could choose to use lower power with high'ish nicotine juice. In either case the throat hit can be dependent on a few things but you could always play around with that. Different atomizers do different things but if you were to exclude drippers, then all you're left with is lower powered mouth to lung atomisers and higher powered direct lung hitting atomisers.

I get the feeling you're interested in the mouth to lung types, although i haven't read through the entire thread so maybe you may have already mentioned this. Those you can research because they can be quite inexpensive. So really all i'm recommending is a box mod.

The point is that a high powered box mod will so you through. It will be something you could continue to use when you decide to crank things up a notch or two in the future.
