I went from buying a Zig-Zag (rolling papers brand) "pen" with no knowledge beyond impulsive curiosity at a gas station, to rebulding coils, safely usinf sub-ohm tanks on mechanical mods (shiny metal tubes) and learning electrical concepts that i thought were always beyond my comprehension.
Its a head-spinner sometimes, but its fun to have a real-life motivation to learn something useful (and for safety's sake).
The first time i tried a friend's sub-ohm/high-power rig, i knew i needed to move beyond the pen. He helped me pick out a regulated box mod (variable voltage and wattage, capable of firing down at 0.2 Ohms and with power up to 30 watts) with an Aspire Atlantis tank.
Whole new world.
Then, i got a Kanger SubTank Mini, that has the rebuildable option included in the box.
Then i bought a mech mod, not knowing what it was, with a no-return policy in the store. That led to a few gadget purchases (battery, charger, wire, cotton, etc.) and weeks spent tinkering, troubleshooting, learning, improving, and chasing the flavor dragon.
So. It comes down to many choices to narrow down... but mainly: do you want to have a new hobby, or do you want convenience?
With the hobby route, the sky is the limit snd you will find many fun surprises and distractions. You will also learn some useful and widely applicable concepts about electricity and variable adjustments/practical problem solving.
The convenience route would be (at minimum to fully enjoy tasty heaven) to buy a box mod that fires up to 30 watts, thats regulated for safety but can run with low resistance coils. For that, my first setup was perfect: Innoken mvp 3.0. Easy to use, completely plug-and-play, and requires no tinkering to keep working and working well (plus, it charges phones and other usb devices). I topped that off with the Aspire Atlantis tank with 0.5 Ohm coils, max VG juice, 6mg nicotine and i just adjusted wattage or voltage until i found the sweet spot between flavor and nicosting.
Down the rabbit hole we go. We're all mad here. Welcome aboard!
