I'm also in NY so I guess our vaping budget is higher then most peoples.

If I just my smoke money on Fasttech I get a package several times a week.

Yesterday I was in the city and stopped at a high end vape shop. Boy that K4 looked good to me. At $180 I can afford it but not enough airflow for me so it would be a show piece only. Maybe someday.

I guess I'm in kinda an odd place. I can afford legit stuff but like clone stuff better. I don't look down on anyone. I do get annoyed by the ones who think only the high dollar stuff works good.

If somebody makes a real pretty high end Orchid V6 I'd be in up to 200ish.

Driving experience? My chauffeur takes care of that.
Hahahahaaaa! That cracked me up! (Actually, it cracked Asbestos up....I'm just the staffer he hired to type in his forum comments. My co-worker makes 6 figures just to click "like" for him)

Not true. I have no idea how I afforded smoking, but somehow I did -- usually by buying less food.

People who choose to buy more expensive things, where there are perfectly adequate things available for half or a third or a fifth of the cost... well, you know those commercials lately about the "stupid rich"? Who choose not to save money even when they can... that's what I think of. Because "money won't spend itself!"

I'll never buy an "authentic" kayfun, because the Tobecos are BETTER -- you can extend the 510 screw without loosening the mounting block. I'll never buy a Provari, because I could buy 5 or 6 iStick30s for the same amount of money. I will NEVER buy anything on account of its label -- I buy name-brands ONLY if said name brand is a) (most important) actually within my budget, and b) actually FARRRR!!! better than off-brands.

meh

people see value differently. as long as there is value in their choice, who am i to judge.

i have 2 provarii...
because when the vapocolypse hits i'll only need to replace batteries

i have reos...
same reason, plus i vape at high watts

my ADV gear is about $630 when assembled and filled.
because it's indestructible, will last forever, can do anything a single battery can provide and functions fantastically better than anything else i've ever come across. (yes, that's one setup... everything else is backups or flavor breaks)

but i have (and very well working) setups i can put together that would total $40 for a complete vaporizer. mvp and UD make for a very nice economy low watt dripper. but the mvp will eventually be disposed of. (not likely before i disassemble it and replace the lipo a couple times, but eventually, i'm sure of it... which is not conducive to the pocket when municipalities are waging a tax war against vaping that might see over priced cotton balls getting a 90% tax just at the retail end.)

so my "economy" purchases are based on functionality and longevity, whereas my "economically acquired" purchases are seen more as temporary measures that helped shape and decide my path to today and beyond. i'm very greatful for them. i just don't see them as permanently economically viable.

It does make me laugh though.....these threads always start out with folks saying those of us with expensive gear look down our noses at those who don't. Yet, it always seems to end up the other way around. Like "my vamo works fine....I dont need an xxx mod like those who have no respect for money. I'm tired of those rich jerks with disposable incomes judging me..."
Its always good for a laugh. On the other hand, I remain optimistic that someday I'll see a post, or hear someone say "man, whatta loser....all he has is an istick with a nautilus. I bet his neighborhood doesn't even have a guard shack! Lololol!!!"
2 years and I still haven't seen that, but I keep hope alive.

Funny thing, that.

I still have my vamo. Replaced top cap, replaced bottom cap, melted away finish, torn mod wrap and all.

My 3 yr old loves it. I put a battery in it with no atty on it and give it to him. He hits the buttons and recites "6 watts, 6 point 5 watts, 7 watts, etc.". He plays round robbing for hours. :D

I don't know why any of us are judging each other. What people spend their money on, or choose to vape isn't anyone else's business :| And it goes both ways. From those who only using high end items making fun of people who don't, and those using less expensive items making insulting remarks to those who use expensive gear. None of it makes any sense to me. And has really been making me feel agitated lately :(

I second that!

But, I think we can all agree that people who use cartos are probably abusive towards puppies and should probably be kicked out of our club.

It's just the same haves-vs.-have-nots that has been played out since the first caveman discovered that having more was better than having less. Nothing to get agitated about. Everyone assigns value differently. It's true that quality usually equals a better economic choice; the hard part is in affording that quality in the first place -- it's not a bargain if you can't afford it.

Yeah, that is my problem, I need to spend less time on facebook, and more time on ECF
If you ever find yourself yearning for that Facebook experience, there is an OUTSIDE! forum here on ECF where you can get your abuse-fix if you try! (But, comparing OUTSIDE to Facebook is kind of like comparing e-cigs to Camel Non's).

Poor Asbestos, all he has are some stock Vaporsharks and bog standard toppers. He never got the platinum versions with diamonds. I bet his neighborhood buys their iPhones from the AT&T shop and hasn't even heard of Supernova.

Here, your wish came true

Ding, ding, ding.....ladies and gentlemen, wake the kids, call the neighbors, shout it from the rooftops....we have a winner!
But don't forget the attitude many (not all) who DIY have towards those who spend money on premium juices!

Much as there is a huge difference in vaping with a $200 mod with a $40-50 tank versus vaping with a $20 ego battery and plastic top coil clearomizer.

OK. What's the difference in vaping with a $200 mod with a $40-50 tank versus vaping with a $25 mod (iStick 30 clone) and $26 tank (Kayfun 4 clone)?

It is what I am using right now and I do not really understand what difference it could be compared to vaping with provary and authentic Kayfun.

If they're all working correctly, not much.

Now the sx mini, which is $200 has different power modes and temp protection so its a truly customized vape.

Replace the word tank with the word atty and there could be a massive difference in the entire experience.

For example I'll take a reo grand and a bf drilled quality $45 clone (customized, so not necessarily still a clone of the original by way of functioning as not originally intended or even slightly expected) atty over any setup I can get for under $200.00 total all day, every day.

Being a heavy vaper and a truck driver who's hard on my equipment, it's more than worth it for me. Add in that I have less worries about future legislation affecting purchase prices of equipment that won't be necessary and it all just makes sense to me.
