Hiya,

So, I was a semi-lightish (I smoked about half a pack of Camel Lights a day, more if I was drinking) smoker from age 19 until 2 years ago (I am now 31), when I switched to snus when my daughter was born. I didn't want to be smoking around her, so I figured that was the way to go.

I took me a few months of really trying before I was able to switch completely over to snus, but once I did, it was a downhill slide. Suddenly I could use nicotine anywhere I wanted. Airplanes, restaurants, any place at all. It wasn't long before I had a portion in for 12 hours out of every day.

This was fine, at first, when snus still wasn't taxed - or at least it wasn't taxed when purchased from online retailers. Even though I was using about 3/4 a can a day, it was still much much cheaper than smoking. Until the taxing came. Suddenly my monthly purchase went from $70 to about $130.

More than that, I'm fairly sure the heavy snus use made it extremely difficult to sleep well at night, so I'd be tired all day long, every single day.

The other day my friend sent me a discount code for vapor4life, and I figured I'd give it a try. Ordered a kit, and now I've been snus free for a few days now. First two days were not fun, I'll just say that. I've been trying both the 8mg and 11mg carts. but yesterday and today the craving for snus is pretty much gone. Hope it doesn't come back. Unfortunately, I'm still not sleeping well, but we'll see what happens. Hopefully this'll also be quite a bit cheaper whenever I find a groove with a flavor I like, etc.

I see problems coming in situations where I could normally snus, but would feel uncomfortable vaping. Airplanes, restaurants, around my daughter, etc.

Anyone else have an experience like mine?

I smoked about 1 1/2 packs Marlboro Mediums, Red Label (whatevertheycallitthisweek), Cigars, Pipes and used to be a heavy Copenhagen user.

had to quit Copenhagen which out of all I loved...cigars were ok, pipe was better but nothing met the jones of a smoke..but now, I'm digging the vape...I'm actually finding <gasp> I don't like the smell of walking by smokers...whoda thunk it?

Well, I didn't switch because I still intend to do it every so often, which is not very often at all really, but I'm an occasional dipper (Cherry Skoal or straight Copenhagen) and chewer (no regular, plug style is nice though). It's kind of wasteful habit for me moreso than anything though, I'll get a can or pouch or whatever, use it twice, and then the next time I want some it's ruined because it dried out over the several months it sat in the drawer for (should probably put it in the fridge...) and I gotta go get more.

I don't like the smell of walking by smokers...whoda thunk it?

I thought this would be me too but I find the smell very appealing when I walk past them even though it seems to smell different to me now. Who knows, could just be their brand...
