Thank you everyone! Selling the stuff is a good idea. I have a lot of friends that use snus so there's that option as well. I'll have to look around. :)

Now it's 3 days and 17 hours without snus! Got some 8 mg juice in the mail today (Blueberry punch) which I'm mixing with some 16 mg menthol. Works extremely well, and with it being a little bit weaker, I feel I can vape more, which is a big plus.

Day 4, here we come!

ive tried that smokey mountain fake stuff before and its got a 50% chance in my opinion ...i had a boss use it and worked for him he dipped for a long time but after his kid asked him to stop dipping...my boss loves his kids and was able to switch to that for a little and then stop completly.....for me tho i had that and when i went into a store to buy more its very easy to just ask for a reguar tin in my case cope wintergreen.. everybody is different and what works for someone maybe different for another but i had to get over that oral fix of having something in my lip...not having anything in my lip for a while now and lip hasnt felt better in 10 years....3 weeks now no dip only vaping going strong

Leaf, if you're feeling edgy and having withdrawal, I don't understand why you are trying to limit your nicotine. Get you some 24mg juice or higher and give it a go. I dipped Copenhaven Straight cut for about 5 years and LOVED it. Only gave it up because my dentist wouldn't leave me alone--and went back to analogs. But I'd say my pretty heavy vaping of 24 mg juice comes pretty close to the Copenhaven "high." Yeah, I love it...

Yeah, 8 mg was actually extremely low. Can't believe I survived at work for almost a week with that stuff.

Back on 16 now. I actually relapsed yesterday night, I don't know what happened, but the cravings just came out of nowhere and kicked my ... (I was a little bit stressed from too much coffee). I tried nasal snuff but it didn't do it, so I had one snus in for about 15 minutes and threw it out. It made me feel good again, so I went on as usual after that, and have been the whole day today as well; only vaping!

Don't know how much of a failure that really was, but at least it wasn't a cigarette. I don't feel any cravings right now either. None at all, so that's great!

I have to order some more juice, so I'll get some 20-24 mg right away. 16 mg is not that bad though. I like more to vape away for a while and then set it down, instead of just being able to take a few drags before feeling completely over-nicced. 20 should be pretty perfect though!

Ok, so an update!

A few days ago I fell off the wagon at work. Had a long meeting without an ability to vape and stole a snus off a friend, it went downhill from there. One week it lasted.

But now I'm on it again! Got a lot of new juices to try. I'm actually considering quitting coffee since I feel vaping is making more sensitive to the stuff (and I feel when drinking a lot of it that I get more cravings for a snus to "calm down"). I do love my coffee though, so we'll see how that goes.

The irony is now that the more I vape, the less urge I feel for using snus. It's the same most people experience when switching from cigarettes to vaping - it just isn't appealing anymore.

I only had two snus today at work, the rest vaping. So I'll reset my banner timer (I am completely cigarette free for over a month though, but the banner is for smokeless tobacco in my case), and start again!

Vape on! :toast:

if you really like coffee but it makes you antsy and crave snus to calm down, then why not have decaf coffee?

You can do it, and vaping can help. More specifically, vaping that is satisfying and relatively trouble free can help. Every time you have trouble with your equipment not working as expected will be an opportunity to fall back into the tobacco trap. Every time you vape an e-liquid you don't like or that doesn't satisfy you will be another opportunity to go back to chewing. I recommend that you do your research, get a reliable setup and juice that satisfies you... then get at least two backups. Get an assortment of e-liquids that you like to give you some variety... and get backups so you don't ever run out. Get backup batteries. Get a backup charger. Leave nothing to chance and commit, right now, to winning the war on tobacco.

I chewed tobacco for 30 years... quit on 21 December 2013 when I started vaping. So, today is 47 days off of tobacco. I have never used snus. Went directly from Copenhagen Wintergreen Long Cut to vaping. I did not use a traditional beginner setup. I went straight to a mechanical mod and Kayfun atomizer and it has worked great for me... but this route is not for everyone and definitely not for people who aren't knowledgeable about battery safety or basic electrical theory. Do your homework, ask lots of questions, and don't give up even if you fall off the wagon. Perfection is great but sometimes we settle for progress. Cheers!

First, buy some 24mg since snus is way more than a cig. I smoked heavily on john silver (as you know, the strongest cig we got)
And i'm on 24mg and doing just fine, i get minor cravings usualy with my coffee.

Second why don't you get some nicotine free snus? I sometimes use Kickup | Energy Effect snus for the taste alone. (And i'm a smoker not a snus user)
I would bet that it would help you get the snus cravings off :)

Good luck to you!

Good point, but I've tried that already. Where I live, we only have one brand of decaf coffee, and it tastes like absolute crap. I'm also extremely addicted to caffeine. When I quit I get very bad withdrawals, almost worse than from nicotine. Also I love the taste of it. I try to drink just a little bit of it, and am fine with it at home, but at work, the only breaks I get pretty much are to get coffee. The ritual of coffee drinking is also so ingrained in Swedish life. The stuff is EVERYWHERE. If you don't drink coffee you don't fit in, pretty much, haha.

Awesome response man! Thank you for the great tips. I've bought a lot of new stuff lately, and have more on the way. Just need to get more replacement heads for my tanks and then I will be set for a while.

Went to a bar last night and drank heavily. I did not snus or even have the slightest craving at all though the night. It was great! Got a lot of people asking me about what I was vaping, and got the permission to vape indoors at one place, which I did. I also think I converted two people, lol.

Ahhh, yes, John Silver. My former favorite cigarette brand. They are indeed very strong!

I ordered more juice, but all in 18 mg. I don't know why I did that, but for my next order, I will get 24 mg. 18 seems to work pretty fine though. Why I got two 30ml bottles of 8mg juice a few weeks ago I will never know, haha. Might use it before bed or something, but 18 suits me pretty well.

Ooooh, great tips on the KickUp! Will get me a couple of cans tomorrow! Cheers, thanks a lot for the tips!

I have always been told that where the head goes the ... will follow. One you get it in your mind to quit....do it. Find the right juice with the right nic content and jump! I smoked 2+ PPD for over 35 years and went b..ls deep the first day! I had it in my mind that i was tire of dealing with the smoking and went for it. The difference was that I was ready to quit! Once you get to that point and really want to you will. I believe that intake of nicotine (no matter how you do it) becomes part of your persona. When we stop our preferred intake method we lose that part of our personality that has become who we are. Losing that part of ourself is not an easy thing to do without. I believe this is why quitting is so hard. It's not as much the nicotine loss but the self loss that makes it so hard. Vaping delivers the nicotine in an effective way. The loss of self is another story! Happy Vaping!

I have been using smokeless tobacco for 8-9 years, together with smoking, but have pretty much given that up as of now (thanks to the snus).

As a teenager in the 1980's here in the U.S. I became hooked on snuff (Copenhagen) when I was 13-14 years old. The nicotine rush to me at that time was something I could not do without. The only thing I could find at the time to give me the same "feeling" was heavy use of Marlboro Red's... The reason I stopped dipping was that it was eroding my gums away.

After what must have been 5 years of Red's I noticed I couldn't breathe in the morning so I stepped down to M'boro Lights. I remember I had to almost double my cigs per day at first but eventually got down to about a pack to a pack and a half per day.

When I took up vaping the first time, I had to bomb my lungs with as much as I could handle, but "ex-smokers cold" drove me back to smoking. The second time same thing, but then I got into clearos and could get enough vape to deliver the amount of nicotine I needed along with the fresher, cleaner air I was breathing in.

I think what I'm trying to get at is that you will have to partake a like amount of nicotine from your vape as that from your snus. I have never tried snus but I am guessing it's like the little Skoal Bandits we used to play with as kids.

Thank you for the great reponses!

An update...

I fell back AGAIN. 4 days free, and then at work I felt like absolute ..... I couldn't function. I vaped and vaped and nothing happened. It came to the point where I could not take it anymore, and I had a snus. After that I felt better again, and bought myself a can on a work break for some reason.

Using snus is not the end of the world. But I would love to be without it and not having to have a frickin' brown bag of drippy tobacco under my lip 24/7. I want to drop my nicotine level down, being healthy again. I want to have good breath. I want to stop having heart racing because of nicotine overdose. I want to be able to smile without feeling selfconcious. I want to vape and be done with tobacco!

I don't know what to do. While home and on my free time I am super happy vaping. But at work, with the added stress, and the pressure of not being able to vape at my desk (haven't asked though), the snus seems to be like the easy answer.

So right now it will be 4 times I've quit, pretty much this month. Two times for one week and two times for a bit less.

BAH!

Don't give up. Chance favors the prepared mind. Keep preparing your mind and you will eventually triumph.

Here's a suggestion... Set up one of your tanks with a (relatively) high nicotine e-liquid (e.g. 36 mg nic). Carry this tank with you but don't use it unless you really need it. Let it be your safety net instead of another can of snuff or snus.

A big thank you for the motivation! I go with this mindset too. I have to ask about vaping at work as well. Usually I do it anyways, but I hate stealth vaping, and having to try and hide the vapor. I sit extremely open in a cubical, so usually I go to the bathroom when I want a vape. As many times as I go during a day though, my boss must think I have a problem, haha.

I have an order on the way from MT Baker which I ordered a few days ago, but again, without thinking I chose all flavors at 18 mg. I might have to order some 36 mg as well, since it's a fantastic idea having that as a "screw this, I'm having a snus". I have no idea where to get nicotine juice that high though from Europe. Mount Baker probably had it though... damn.

Hello LeakingLeaf. Swedish snus comes in many different strengths (as you probably know). I use mini white portions and they are really nice (General white mini mint is my favorite). Besides, you can always take that pouch out of your mouth if you start to feel jittery and save it for later. Snus is very forgiving. ;)

If you're using strong portions, go ahead and divide them. :) You can use empty tea bags to make new pouches.

You may also consider getting some WTA eliquids--they don't work as well as snus, but they do contain some of those minor tobacco alkaloids that are missing from regular eliquid.

Have you visited our Smokeless forum yet?
