Just for the heck of it, I bought a single Blu disposable from a convenience store. I wanted to know what made them essentially the leader in the e-cigarette industry. I took a puff, and I was very disappointed. The draw was terrible, and I barely exhaled any vapor. The vapor that I did exhale was clear and not cloudy. That bothers me because if I'm vaping in public, I don't want people to think that I'm chewing on an illuminating pen. The menthol flavor was also too strong. I generally use menthol liquid, but this one was too overwhelming especially if I re-inhaled my "secondhand vapor."

Has anyone else had similar experiences with Blu?

You know, if you already know the ropes then, yep they are over rated.

Now strictly speaking of the disposables, I think they are worth their weight in gold. I picked one up as an experiment to see if it was worth the time, effort and cash money to get into vaping. Picked one up at the pharmacy on my way to work one day to see if I could make it all day at the office without a stinky and it worked like a charm so I got into vaping with various equipment and juice based on that test run and, boy, I am glad I did!

I have been vaping for a month now and stinky free for 9 days because of that little experiment and supporting a whole bunch of cottage industry Internet shops in doing so and I feel soooooo much better physically and mentally for it.

Now using nothing but those disposables or even their little kit, yeah that would suck.

Just sayin'...

There is certainly better options, but they do help stoke the flame of vaping. I was prepared to purchase one of their premium 100 starter kits off their website. After doing some online research I found that there is a vape shop near me and I stopped in and was given an education. So Blue and their marketing got me of cigs. I just hope they don't use their clout to knock out the competition with regulation.

My first experience with vaping was a disposable blu cig sold locally for $10. The battery didn't last very long, even for a cig style, and it had a nasty, burnt flavor to it. It stopped working shortly after I got it. I didn't like a thing about it but wondered if it was just the one I bought until I saw a review on youtube. The only thing good I can say about it is that although I would not be willing to spend money on one again, it DID make me think that there might be something to this vaping so I looked for more info and here I am with all of you, vaping away (and unfortunately getting sick from it but hoping that goes away soon). While the blu was a complete waste of money, something I have little of to begin with, it also got me started on a healthier way to get my nic and with luck, off cigs permanently.

There's really nothing wrong with Blu itself. One of my mainstays is a j108 which is essentially the same battery as the Blu 100. The problem is the weak nicotine strength they put into their cartos. Throw a decent atomizer or a carto filled with some higher strength liquid in there and it's an extremely satisfying experience, if you want the form factor and the auto function.

I wasn't aware that blu was rated very highly at all by anyone ;)

IMHO they are overpriced, gimmicky (PPC that finds other Blu users? dafuq?) and seem to be something that hipsters and trendy folk would like. Now they are owned by a tobacco company.... so there's that.

But it's just a 510 battery and prefilled cartos. They are on par with most other entry-level cigalike kits. I think the Smoov and Volt are a much better overall system than Blue, if you plan to stick with just branded stuff. But there really isn't anything wrong with the actual product itself. Batteries don't last long because they are small, but that's the whole point, to be as close to the size of a real cig as possible. That's just a limitation of the form factor not a quality issue.

If someone is in the market for a small cigalike kit, there's nothing wrong with the Blu. It's really their whole "image" thing that they are trying to portray that I'm not particularly fond of.

Neither Blu or Njoy are over rated. they have started many people on the journey to a smokeless life and therefore are wonderful products. I've never used either of them myself, but if a device helps save one life you really cannot say much against it.
are they really "the best"? Not in my opinion, but there are many people who swear by them, so they are right for those people.
as many people say "Whatever gets you off the real thing...."

One of my good friends has been using blu for about 2 weeks & hasn't had a cigarette since she bought a disposable. I personally didn't want to try them because they just felt like they were hyped up & the battery life wasn't that great from what I saw while doing my research & the cost struck me as kinda high. However, it is working for her & that's all that matters. Everyone's gotta start somewhere!

I think Blu is overpriced, but not overrated.
I have only used the Premium 100 though.
The form factor & PCC are great.
The cartridges are Johnson Creek juice & last for about 200 puffs.
Now that they're charging sales tax on everything.
Restricting reward points & taking forever to ship.
I'm happy that I've found another vendor, who sells quality refills.
But the hardware is excellent for a mini.

I forgot to say, I have a box of "high strength" tobacco flavored cartos that I got awhile back when waiting on a juice order, and didn't have any tobacco juice around (I NEED at least one tobacco juice in rotation at all times ;) )

Their cartos, while 510, are thinner than regular 510 cartos. I thought that was very odd. They are 3 ohm, and actually perform pretty decent on straight battery voltage for being such high resistance. But overall I think their cartos just don't compare to Boges, Smoktech, Ikenvapes, etc. Just a sub-par carto with decent juice, it just seems odd that they would go to the trouble of using some oddly designed carto when they could have probably used better performing ones for the same price.

I stopped by the gas station the other day for a pack of rolling papers because of a vidya I watched where if you wrap a bit around your mesh wick and fire it it forms a protective layer of carbon around it. tell the lady to just give me whatever brand, i have no preference, and this old man next to me whose squinting at the blus in the case is all like "HURHUR why don't you get one of these instead?" So i pull my telescope with a vivi nova out of my pocket and brandish it at him and say "why don't you skip THAT and get something that works?"

he was flabbergasted, but at the end i advised him to get an njoy king to try first, instead of a blu, then to go down the road to the B&M if he thinks he can hang.

GOOD LUCK OLD DUDE
