I posted over on technical issues but no one seems to know...

I just got my Riva 901 from LF (30 hours ago) and my 808 cartos won't fit. They're hard to put on, almost impossible to take off, and won't fire. Anyone currently using their 901 successfully with cartos? It works with the atomizer so I know it's not a power issue. Strangely enough they did work with one particular carto yesterday. It was one that I had been using on a 510 to 901/808 adapter, but it has since died on me. :(

Thanks for the reply cappadoc. I was beginning to think I was the only one using standard kr8s on these.

I've tried approximately 12 different cartos on mine, put them on, took them off, repeat ad nauseum, they just won't fire. I'm now back to my old kr8 batteries except when I have the time to drip. At this point I'm dreaming of analogs because I'm frustrated and my 510 charger went psycho on me. Maybe I'll order a 901 to 808 adapter from somewhere just to see if that will help.

I use vapornine turbos or LiteCigs premium. They are the best I have tried. They might be a looser thread?

Not with my batts they aren't, at least not the VaporNine. I have some of those along with both types of V4L and a batch of stainless from IkenVape. Thanks for playing though.

I went ahead and ordered a 901-808. I'll know by early next week if that will work or not.

StormFinch, I just replied to your other post, here was my reply:

"Ah oh... I just ordered the Riva 901 from Liberty Flights after Abe assured me that my 808 cartomizers would fit. Now I'm worried :-(
StormFinch, where did you find a 901 to 808 adapter? Thank you."

Please post back and let us know how the adapter works and if it clears the cone.

I'm trying not to anticipate a problem, but I'm not going to be a happy.customer if my V4L and Turbo Cartos don't fit. I have too much invested in them!:(

Don't mean to but in hear but I have a few of the Riva 901 units and they work great, adapters are available these days almost at all suppliers or many of them Natalia, just go to a few sites and you will see these small chrome adapter, you can run any carto or Atty you want with these adapters and they all work fine, you can also do like I do and use the 510 Riva cone on your 901, I actually like it better like this with certain cartos especially the mega bigger cartos, the 901 cone is to short in my opinion and there is a gap in between your atty or cato that is just to big so the 510 cone works better for me

Another thing I do is use a dripping tip and an LR510 on these and I take a spare oring from an old dripping tip and remove it and place it over the threads on the battery down on to the flat part and then screw my cone on tight and then a new dripping tip, this way no liquid ever leaks out of the bottom of the cone where it seats down on this oring if you know what I mean and it makes dripping a bit more enjoyable because no liquid ever runs out of you batt and you can over fill or drip with no hassles

I replied over there as well Natalia but to recap; deback gave you the name of the supplier I got my adapter from. It should be here on Monday so if you want I can let you know how it goes.

The transition should be fine for you if these adapters work, and I'm betting they will. The draw on the adapter itself can be adjusted, or at least I think it can on the 901-808 since I know it can on the 510-808. If you need help with it, if the draw is too tight, drop me a PM and I'll help you out with it.

Darn ol' hubby. Ask him if he'd rather you go back to analogs because of short battery life frustration. That would certainly be more expensive than a $30 Riva!

StormFinch you are just so nice. Thank you sooo much! I definitely get more support and help here. DH hasn't adjusted to vaping, just too set in his ways.

I'm going to order the adapter today, just in case. But I'll probably take you up on your offer and PM you with any questions.

Thanks again,
N.

You're very welcome Natalia. :)

As to DH, if he's still trying to vape and just can't get off the analogs you might try picking him up some swedish snus. They're spitless tobacco pouches with a really good safety history. Hubby may need more than just nicotine like some of the people here do. You can check out the smokeless sub forum for what they have to say about it. Otherwise, just be an example. Keep a running tally of how much you've saved on vaping and out-walk him the next time you go somewhere together. :D

Well now that would explain it. I have cool carts, older V4L premiums, Vapor Nine turbos, and stainless from Iken. Technically, they are all the same exact cartos from the same manufacturer except the premiums. I almost forgot about that. I'll have to go dig up some that I am positive are premiums from my stash.

BTW, the premiums probably won't function exactly as wanted because they are 2.something ohms and designed around the 3.7 kr8 batteries. Rivas run at around 3.3 volts
