Eureka! As mentioned above, I dug into my older stash of cartos and here's what I found:

The original Kanger cartos have a connection that looks exactly like the bottom of the 901 attys. At that time they relied on the battery to provide air holes for ventilation. V4L premiums added small notches on the outer ring of the connection and a slight indentation, almost like a screw slot, on the bottom button. The cooler running cartos, cool/turbo/gold etc. have even larger notches and a different shaped center button. The button has rounded edges and a larger slot. I believe that the Rivas were designed around the older Kanger design and the new design isn't making contact properly. I imagine that the 901-808 adapter will solve this problem since the newer cartos work fine on the 510-901/808 adapters.

I've got a few kangers around here, as well as the older V4L premiums. I'll have to clean old tobacco flavored juices out of them (ew!) but at least they'll work until I get my adapters in. That's certainly better than the old kr8 equipment I was using earlier. Those things are on their last legs! :p

Fingers crossed the adapter works. You'll find out before I do ;)

I'm almost positive they will Natalia. The design on that adapter can't be much different than the 510 to 901/808 and they work fine with the newer cartos.

i have some 808s from v4l i use on my ego but i have to take the stickers to get air flow with the cone on

I haven't had that problem but one time, and on that one carto the cone hung up about halfway down but slid free really quick. I'm thinking that they may starting to widen the top hole on the cone a little to accommodate the stickers, or maybe I'm just lucky with cones. Figures, I could use the luck on something, but did it have to be cones? lol

Very good find. I don't have any Kanger cartos. All of mine are V4L and Turbos from Vapornine. When is your adapter coming????????....LOL

LOL Hopefully MONDAY! Say prayers to the great USPS guiding spirits. Due to the fact that most of my premium cartos are old, as in right after I just started vaping old, all I could find to hook to my Riva was a prefilled tobacco that I can't blow the juice out of. Ew! :p

I've used C-E2 rev 3 and 4 on my 901 Rivas. The carts just barely screw on. Sometimes I get a small hobbyist style pliers to make that last half turn to get the carto on enough to make the electrical connection. I then need to use pliers to remove it again. Others fit just fine. I'm sure its a case of cheaply made threads not quite lining up with other cheaply made threads ;)

I have a bunch of 901 to 808 adapters. The C-E2 thread onto them easily and they thread well onto the Riva. Does fix things at the expense of length making the unit a bit longer.

For anyone who's never used adapters before let me offer this advice. There are 2 ways to do things. 1) Screw adapter onto atomizer/cartomizer then screw onto battery. 2) Screw adapter onto battery then screw on atomizer/cartomizer.

The ultimate result is the same; a unit of battery then adapter then carto. But if you look carefully at the adapter you will see that the center connector has some play since the silicon grommet can compress. This means which end of the adapter is screwed on first get to compress that grommet. Which means the other end of the adapter has a center connector that sticks out just a bit more. Sometimes that small difference in distance is what is needed to get the electrical connection to be good.

So if doing it in one order fails try the other order before you decide the adapter doesn't work. And if you find it works doing it one way keep doing it that way.

I own a Riva 901 from LF and you must have a 901-808 adaptor which does NOT have the middle piece secured by a silicon ring, it will not make the connection, i do not know if the LF one they sell is like this or not, but adapters do work with the cartos that don't screw on easily as standard, and the Riva 901 is an awesome kit. LR attys also work great too !!

Natalia reminded me that I've been remiss in my updates, (thanks nat :) ) so here it goes;

I received my 901-808 adapters the first of the week and they work beautifully! Adapter threads on perfectly as well as the carto, which is more than I can say for some of the 510 to 901/808s I've purchased along the way. :laugh:

Anyway, all is now right in my world of vapor. Thanks for your responses everyone!
