I am on day 3 of no analogs at all and truly proud of myself......mostly I am proud because my hubby is still smoking analogs.

I keep instilling it into my head that vaping is so much better for me, that I am enjoying it (I truly am). I am enjoying the smells of the different liquids I am using and the taste is a million times better as well.......but his sitting in the next room and the smoke wafting over is just driving me NUTS!!!!!!!

Someone please tell me I am not the only one!?

Well, luckily the wife and I BOTH vape, BUT she did have to deal with me smoking in the beginning. Although I did go outside to smoke....she could still smell it on me...drove her NUTS too.

I simply CAN NOT tolerate cig smoke nowadays...LOL I cant even go to my moms to visit anymore, I mean I still do, just cant stay long, or I get physically sick.

I wish you all the best and we are ALL here to help !!!

No you are not the only one out there

I am an avid vaper for 5 months now and do not smoke analogues at all. Unfortunately I have not been able to make a convert of my spouse who just does not like the idea of vaping at all.

She is quite/trying to cut down (gum , patches etc. ) but so far not been able.
It is really exasperating as I can not even convince her to try . She is just turned off by the whole idea.

I know the smell of cigarette smoke is an annoyance but what can you do .

I actually went from wanting to have one of the hubbies cigs to being barely able to keep from gagging from the smell of them quite quickly! It was like one day, I wanted to have an analog, and the next, I couldn't fathom ever having one again! Keep up the good work, it will get easier and easier! I tried one after 3 days of strictly vaping, and threw it out after 2 drags, yeeeeuck!

I'm on the same boat over here. Hubby has tried vaping but says it makes him sick. We can't figure out if it's the sweetener or PG/VG but he is allergic to something in the juices.
Ive continued to vape and can't even smoke a full cigarette anymore! It tastes awful to me now!
It's so bad he can smoke next to me and I still won't crave one as long as I have my favorite juices. I feel bad that we have spent so much money trying this but it's working naturally for me without even trying to quit.

Any ideas about what he can try?

Some react badly to pg, others to vg, still others to certain flavorings. Pretty much all of us have to get through the basic stuff, learning to drink lots of water, many inhale into mouth before lungs, etc.

Trying a bit of plain pg nic base, and separately some plain vg base, at a reasonable level (probably 18 or 24 mg/ml), can help isolate a sensitivity.

We'd probably need to know what juices you have available to help narrow it down, lacedolphin.

I might try getting a container of glycerin from the pharmacy and have him try dripping a little of that? If it's a PG sensitivity, that'd not bother him.

Good luck with it, that's got to be frustrating.

When I ordered my starter kit from the vapor room, they have a liquid called Toasted Tobacco that I got with my husband in mind.
Well yesterday I had a screw up in an order of cartomizers that came and they were the smaller 510 LR's, while I prefer my EMDCC's...anyway, I filled up one of the smaller ones with the toasted tobacco and asked him to try it. He definitely liked it and I left that near him with hopes he would pick it up at some point after that initial try......nope. And it didn't help, I guess, that we went out for beer and wings last night either. LOL

BUT I am so fricking proud of myself for NOT grabbing an analog on beer and wing night! THAT in my mind is an accomplishment.

Being one of the "select few" who has a pretty severe reaction to PG the first thing I would do is eliminate the obvious: Get a flavor in 100% PG and 100% VG sample sizes and see how he reacts to them.

For me that was: PG? Nausea, vomiting, intense itching on my hands and forearms, difficulty breathing. That was all in the first four days of vaping and confirmed by my allergist as an allergic reaction to PG. VG? Nada, nothing, zero problems or adverse reactions to it at all.

If there is any suspicion on your part that it might be a flavoring ingredient you can go down the same path, but with an unflavored 100% PG and 100% VG. Obviously if he is then having no adverse reaction to either PG or VG unflavored then you have to start tracking down what flavoring agent he has a problem with. Best of luck!

It doesnt bother me, i have 2 people in house that smoke. I don't bother them because I got ...... off when people complained when I smoked. If you quit and you are around a smoker you shouldn't change their lives because you made a choice. I quit, my choice - my discomfort being are people who smoke. The world doesn't change around me due to my choices in life. Im not a fan of x-smokers that become anti-smoking billboards. You smoked, you chose to quit, you succeeded, and its time to work on something else. X Smokers shouldn't point fingers at smokers when that finger is still stained with years of cigarette smoke. These comments are not meant for any one person, im speaking in generality.

LaceDolphin,

My wife still smokes a pac a day. I quit/switched almost 2yrs ago. In that amount of time she has only tried it twice. Some people just don't want to quit, and she's one of them. Don't get me wrong, I love my wife dearly, but in the 15yrs we've been married I can see the effects analogs have had on her. The mornings are the worst, she coughs so hard and long that I expect her to cough up a lung. It doesn't help that she's anemic and she has graves disease (hyper). I comment once in a great while about quitting, as do the kids, but she has to be the one that wants to quit/switch. All we can do for now is except it.

Good Luck with your hubby!

Good to know I am not the only one.

He definitely is very proud of me for quitting and he has cut down on his smoking over the past couple of weeks, so that is good and honestly, he sounds horrible when he coughs too. That's not a new development though.

This weekend we went out for my best friends birthday and he thought if ever there was going to be a caving in and grabbing an analog, it would have been Saturday night as we were bar hopping.....but I didn't have a desire for one....at least that I remember! :D

To my surprise, a friend of ours was at the one bar and guess what he had in his hand? An E-cig. So I think when my husband saw a guy with one, that must have lit a light bulb because Sunday he was surfing looking at them. I gave my opinion that he should maybe try to get something with 510 threading in case he needs to hit my stash of carto's or grab a battery, but figured it is best that he figures out what he likes and runs with that. He is like me....has tried the gum, lozenges, patches, pills and it hasn't worked. Maybe this is something that can work for him if he tries.

Anyway....thanks for listening!

I don't have a smoker in my house but where I live is an apartment complex and its also where I have several of my friends living here too. These friends are people that I used to sit and visit with inside during the cold weather. I am no longer able to do so. I was fine when I visited with them a few times after I stopped analogs and vaped. It was AFTER I left their apartments that I was SO sick. I just cant go through that again. It was horrendus.

In the Summer we all sit outside under the trees and visit. THAT I will be able to do, I think. Since it will be less about being enclosed in a space with smoke I am hoping I wont have the severe reaction I had.

I agree with Joe about not being that x-smoker who points their finger at those who do smoke. I feel bad for the people I know that still use analogs but I would never voice it. A personal choice.

I am approaching month 2 and hate, I mean hate, to say it but turning into a pious git. I despised those ex smokers who pontificated about the smell of cigarette smoke and I am that person trying very hard to bite my tongue around the still smoking wife.

She says she will give it a go seriously and every juice order I pick up something for her but they are sitting in an old pickle jar untouched.

Just bought the Provari Mini for her so let's see how that goes. Worse case scenario is that I will have another Provari to go with my black one that will be delivered tomorrow.

That end my mod buying for a while as I also got a Vapage XL as she saw me looking at review and said that is cute. Vaping it now and for the price it is very good.

The frustrating part is apart from the first week or so the transition was painless for me once I got the nic right. So know it is do able but no interest.

Oh well back to biting tongue.
