How often do you guys clean your SSGGTS's?? Mine just needs a wipe down by a microfiber cloth and it's good to go. I've cleaned it/polished it once or twice since I've had it and it's still beautiful.
I do this about once every two weeks, I wipe it down with a cloth every day or so but after about 2 weeks it needs the sweat, oil, and dirty hand smears taken off.
I use a very light spray of windex and towel it off, then a damp cloth to remove any left over amonia and it shines like new money.
To be clear I am the type that can tarnish the Aluminum GGTS in a week and when I had a Nickel Omega after three days it looked like it was black and grey. My Skin PH is really wonky.
Yeah I can understand that. I had to get rid of my nickel GGTS because my hands like to tarnish it very easy. My aluminum GGTS gets tarnished but I try not to polish it a lot, the engravings are getting softer.
I am thinking of having my Aluminum redone, Jason @ electronic stix can redo them.
I am also thinking of a powder coat job to make it slightly more unique but I am not sure of that yet.
Powder coating would be cool but take a look at anodizing I believe its more durable and will last longer with aluminum... and as a window cleaner by trade I hate Windex its the worst thing ever and does nothing but leave streaks and residue... I would recommend on the Stainless Steel finish nothing but a lil hot soapy water and an old toothbrush for the threads or an ultrasonic cleaner if you really want it super duper surgical clean...

I've had more trouble with the Brass than the SS. How do y'all get it looking all shiny again? I've tried using Brasso and Cape Cod cloths, but it's never anywhere near as shiny as when I got it.
Maybe I could get the Stealth cap Nickel Plated? Would that be really expensive?

To be honest I like the contrast of tarnished brass against the shiny Stainless Steel to me it gives it a bit more character... also looks great with o-rings over the TS tube and helps give it a lil better grip as well one of these days I will take pics but I know there are a few other people who have also done the o-ring thing on the TS tube....

I understand but anodize will scratch easier if not done to a industrial hardness and even then it will scratch. Anodize will also need a chemical mask and someone that knows what they are doing to retain the electrical continuity.
powdercoat is cheaper and easier to apply, lots of custom colors and with the right additives is tough as nails.
Plating is not cheap but not overly expensive either, just make sure you are getting a good thickness of plating.
Also autosol and Mothers A&M polish works very well on the brass. Brasso used to be good in the old school blend but in the 90's they changed the formula and it now is not the greatest thing out there.

Autosol is good polish.
a-ha see my experience with Anodizing was only with Aircraft grade materials as I used to work for a company that made the emergency oxygen units that go into aircraft.... and Im sure those parts were never subject to the amount of handling that our GG's are used to... was just a thought as an alternative to powder coating just another option to think about...
I dunno... The Buzz is anodized and it's a crazy tough finish. I would be worried about keeping the conductivity through the threads, though.
Oh do not get me wrong Anodizing can be tough as heck but it can also just decorative.
The tougher it is the more expensive it becomes. Usually but not always you can get a tougher finish in powdercoat than anodizing. Just from what I have seen but I may very well be wrong as my experience may be a little dated.
WD40 works brilliant on brass for me. Might be worth trying if you have some laying around, before buying something else?
WD40? Never thought of it. It is non abrasive? I think it should be...

I went to autosol.com and they seem to have quite a few products. Can someone post a link to the specific product you all are referring to please? Also, do any store carry it or is it something than needs to be purchased exclusively online? And if you don't mind posting the link for the specific Mother's product also.

Edit: One more thing... I managed to scratch the top brass cap with my SS Liquinator somehow and it's driving me nuts every time I look at it. Is there a way to polish out those scratches or will I need to replace the cap? Thanks.
