Hey guys,

I went to autosol.com and they seem to have quite a few products. Can someone post a link to the specific product you all are referring to please? Also, do any store carry it or is it something than needs to be purchased exclusively online? And if you don't mind posting the link for the specific Mother's product also.

TIA.

Edit: One more thing... I managed to scratch the top brass cap with my SS Liquinator somehow :( and it's driving me nuts every time I look at it. Is there a way to polish out those scratches or will I need to replace the cap? Thanks.

Bump..... :)

I love Flitz and used it long before vaping was invented. I was in law enforcement for 27 years and was very, very OCD about keeping my side arms cleaned, lubed and polished. Flitz was great for taking out hairline scratches on Stainless Steel pistols but it did tend to make the satin finish on most pistols go shiny.

Now for a GGTS, shiny is what we want so Flitz is great. Another polish I found that works wonders for getting the hairline scracthes that brass end caps get just from being used is Mr. Metal. I just recently found that and it is available at most places like wally world. Not sure how it would work with a tactile scratch (one that you can fel with your finger nail or deeper) but it does give the brass a high gloss that seems to last longer than most others I have used.

Sure thing man! :) What I do with the brass is put some of the Mr. Metal on a piece of velvet material. With said velvet on a flat, hard surface, I put a small amount of it on the velvet and spread it around to a circle about the size of an old style silver dollar.

I prefer to take the caps off for the actual buffing but it doesn't matter really. Apply enough pressure for the velvet texture to create a brush effect and polish a bit, look at your progress after wiping the residue off and repeat as needed. Good luck and let me know how it worked for you please.

One small aside is that even after you are done and the polish has dried on the velvet, it still is great for quick touch ups without adding any more polish. Restores the original shine from the last true buff/polish and extends time between needed polishing.

Going to have to add Mr Metal to my collection. You can't have too many different polishes.

I highly recommend the miltex stain remover. I use it to clean my surgical instruments. It comes in a powder form, mix it with some water, apply with a cloth and it will bring shine and luster to brass, SS, silver and more, practically in few seconds of gentle rubbing. can be found in medical supply stores, or over the web.
