Anyone ever been stabbed by kanthal??

Well, For your information, Kanthal, when unfired, is fairly magnetic and stray pieces can be picked up with a magnet... Once it's been fired though, it looses a lot of the magnetic properties! As I've got a kid and wife (both of whom I'd like to keep "poke" free!), I've just gotten into the habit of holding on to leads I clip using tweezers and using a magnet to clean up my work area; added benefit is that I have not had an "accident" of that nature... Ever!

LOL... Been fully pierced before. That was not a fun day. My GF's foot found a small stray clipping one time... I haven't lost a stray piece since...

I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I thought I'd try general. I have been stabbed twice by kanthal in the past three days. And let me tell you it hurt like a [Moderated]!!! It felt like a needle stabbing into me.

The first time was when I was cleaning up my desk after a build. I had a couple of pieces of excess kanthal and I went to close my hand and one of the strands stuck straight in! It hurt so bad I yelled. The second time I was just walking around my room barefoot and I stepped on what felt like a thumb tack. I then pulled about half an inch of kanthal out of the bottom of my foot.

Sorry kind of a long post but I thought I would explain my experience. I never realized how sharp kanthal is! Just seeing if anyone has had a similar experience.

yup... several times... feels just like getting jabbed with a guitar string, something I've also done several times too many.

Yes I have it dose not feel very nice at all. I think that is one of the reason I gave up on rda's that and the fact I couldn't get any smoke.

Caught a bass string in the eye one time. Right in the iris. Still can see the spot in the right light.
