I know one of the major issues with e-cigs is lack of advertising and major misconceptions on the health issues. So I was sitting around this morning, and got to thinking about contacting my local news stations here and trying to get them to run a story on e-cigs. Mainly I want people to be warned about the e-cig "free trial" scams, and to give helpful information on starter kits, and to clear up some common misconceptions (like the whole antifreeze bs). Just wondering if anyone has ever tried this to get some exposure to the vaping world.

Well, I sent an email to the station. I decided to go the "on your side" route to maybe get a warning out there on the "free trial" scams. I know I almost got sucked in by one. That was how I found this forum in the first place. I actually googled "e-cigarette scam" and eventually made it here. I then ordered my first 510 kit from cignot, and I've never looked back. My email simply asked that they run a story on the scams, and maybe provide some links to this forum and other sites dedicated to enlightening people on all things e-cig. I'll post any replies that I get from the station, if any.
