Yea after a heavy vape sometimes i feel the need to cough up some stuff, usually clear mucus. I always assumed it was just the body trying to combat being dry from vaping too much, try drinking more water perhaps.

Actually, dehydration due to vaping is an old vaper's tale.
I suppose body is trying to get rid of excess of PG/VG.

Since when is that an old vapers tale? And also one of the best ways to clear up mucus is usually to drink more water because it helps break it up. Thats the case of vaping or being sick really.

Since when it is not?
Could you give me any reliable source proving this thing about dehydration?

EDIT: Sorry, I do not want to continue on dehydration - I do not want to derail the thread.

I dont have any but tons of threads on this forum about it and the benefit of drinking more water. Where is your research that goes against what most of the community believes? I honestly think this person could benefit from drinking more water. Regardless if vaping is dehydrating this person or not, water will help him break up and cough up mucus.

I think the same thing, but I definitely don't cough as much as when I was smoking cigs everyday all day.
Also if it hasn't been that long since you quit cigarettes, it may be both the fact you're not used to vaping yet combined with the fact your cilia in your lungs are healing and bringing up mucus is it's way of cleaning the lungs out.. So it could very well go away overtime.

I don't really understand how PG allergy works, how some people with a PG allergy can take just one puff off a 100% PG juice and feel like they are going to die but take 10-20 puffs off a 20/80 PG/VG mix in a short time and feel perfectly fine, that doesn't make much sense to me..

It could be a PG causing you to cough I guess either due to a allergy or since it's harsher on the throat, or it could be the VG, since VG is thicker and stickier that could be acting kinda like a adhesive, making mucus in your throat or lungs form together easier? I think drinking a lot more water might help that, sooth the throat while diluting the mucus and washing it down at the same time.

Of course this is just my opinion, I have no science to back it up. I'd suggest trying both a higher PG and higher VG juice (Or all PG and all VG if you're feeling brave) on separate days and see which one might be causing the problem, or like I said since your lungs are healing it could go away over time.

Not trying to be flippant, Crashhat69, but are you SURE you aren't sick? My best friend walked around with pneumonia in her lungs for several weeks, claiming that she was fine because other than the congestion she didn't feel sick. It is possible to have fluid in the lungs without other symptoms. It might not be a bad idea, if you're able, to go to the doctor just to rule out something serious.

I just quit smoking and started vaping a month ago, so all kinds of crazy things are going on with my lungs/nose etc as my body rids itself of 25 years of toxic garbage, but you've been vaping a good while so I don't think that should be the case with you.

I am vaping for about half a year. While smoking I did not have cough or phlegm in my throat. Now I have to clean my throat once or twice a day. Not really annoying, but nevertheless... It is definitely because of vaping (I am pretty healthy this year).

Last week or so I been the same way, needing to clear my throat from light mucus. Maybe its the weather change.
