I am looking to get an ecig kit for my mom. She insists on getting an analog looking ecig. She says that my tank looks funny. lol! She'll see the difference after a while. I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard of the "808" model ecig. I have purchased kits from myevaporate.com before and I see that they have an analog looking kit there but I just dont know. Any comments or suggestions? Thanks.

Also, where IS that site located? They take Paypal so that tells me they are not in the US. Stick with an American seller, there is no need to get your starter kit overseas.

EDIT: Oh wow they are in Miami. Bad call, they are going to have trouble with Paypal. Ecigs are against their TOS.

I wrote a blog entry because so many people ask (click below my picture). I would suggest getting a couple of EGO Twists to start. Lots of advice in other threads too. I see a couple threads going right now just scanning the New Members forum.

I have a little knowledge. They go by kr-808d1 or just 808d. It gets confusing but those are the same 808d-2 is different threading.
They are skinnier than egos and longer than cigarettes. The cartomizers are efficient. How ever I only have a passthru for the car. I much prefer the eRoll. Both tend to be a little pricey in the long run and of course lots of filling and recharging but fun. Th eroll is much smaller. A little higher learning curve and the Atties are twice as much but probably last twice as long and perform twice as good. There is a new eroll thread with great great info. Very clear.

808's are fine to use. I'm using one, myself. "808" is not a specific model, btw. It refers to the threading on the battery. The two common ones for cigalikes are 808 (or more accurately, kr808d-1) and 510, with 510 having much more dominance. Though the performance of the two is quite similar, I would generally recommend getting her a 510 model since they are generally easier to come by in terms of vendors and parts. Most US vendors stock them and their related parts/accessories. She'll have an easier time ordering stuff for em.

I'm trying really hard not to recommend the Volt yet again, as it is an 808. But it's also hands down the best cigalike I've tried.

I'd stay away from that company, myself and go with a more well known reputable company that is supported by ECF.

Smokeless Image makes a Volt lineup of 808-threaded cigarette-sized batteries with a good reputation for quality, good customer service, and fast delivery. They back up their product, carry two lines of e-liquids, and offer room to advance to larger batteries (Volt X2) and variable voltage (Volt Spinners). Based in Ohio.

I have 808 threaded batteries they work fine and I got my mom a kit too I got them from Bedford Slims and the kit only cost around 30-ish bucks check it out simple kit but you may need to get her her own juice and blank cartos but the 510 e cigs are more widely available but I haven't seen any kits that cheap and good quality plus they're a small company in Brooklyn and may have coupons too

If your Mom absolutely wants a cig look a like I'd go for the eRoll kit.

On litecigusa.net they are on sale, get an extra cone for charging. They don't last long but the battery pack has lots of juice so she can keep swapping.

I own some pretty big whopping ecigs, but I am looking at getting a small set for when I go out and need something very small. This is the kit I would purchase and I have heard a lot of good things from experienced vapers here. I was shopping around and mtbakervapor.com has it a little cheaper after coupon, but Lite Cig has all the extra parts in stock. Plus... their Nite Lite Vapor... OMG my fave ejuice.

If Cig-a-Likes it must be, the Joyetech eRoll is the smartest. Pls have a look here.

As Baditude and others have said, the Volt is a quality product and Smokeless Image is a great company to do business with.

I've also heard great things about the eRoll, though I haven't tried one yet.

I primarily use minis these days, haven given away or traded all of my manual and VV batteries. My favorite is the Sidesho by Modern Vapor. The battery has nearly twice the capacity of the eRoll, it's a 510 connection and it has the smoothest draw of any automatic e-cig I've tried. It took me 6 months of vaping to get rid of cigarettes completely and it was the Sidesho that did so.
