The guys standing around clouding up the place, continuously pouring juice in and chain vaping clouds gets old. It's cool if thats what you want to do but get 3 or 4 around you and its quite annoying. I like my vapor to simulate analog smoke or less. What the heck were these guys smoking before they started vaping ? !!! I don't get it. Plus thats a lot of juice !!! Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I think most of them probably never smoked, and just vape for the novelty of the clouds.

Ahh sorry, I don't mean to offend, it's been years since I've been around scenesters-- and when that was big in my area, the majority of them were under 21 (and most under 18). I will admit I'm a nice combo of eurotrash and pop punk outside of work. My girlfriend also refers to me as the 'original hipster' for many of my actions -- but not the stereotypical, commercial, urban outfitters psudo-hipsters with dumb hats that plague most vape shops. I hate to admit it, especially on here, with the negative connotations surrounding it. But when you look at the root definition more and the stereotype less I have trouble denying it to her. okay, that's enough talking about myself.

BTW-- I quite like your political stance(s) listed in your signature. I've noticed that a lot of vapers on here tend to lean to the libertarian side. Gives me hope.

No offense taken. Honestly you're pretty right about the age group that most scene kids fall into. I bloomed a little late in that regard. I can't color my hair due to working in a professional office, and even getting my lip piercing will take a lot of brown nosing. I used to wear the shirts for the bands I like to work until about a year after I started working there when the secretary (my grandfather) started pitching a fit about it not being professional. My uncle, who owns the company, just wanted him to shut up about it so now we're all required to wear polo shirts to work. I still get away with wearing all my rubber bracelets with my band logos on them though.

I know how that goes, I've been in the process of growing my hair out -- didn't check with my work first, but I looked through the handbook and it didn't say anything so I figured whatever isn't forbidden is permitted. But it does keep me on my toes.. I keep waiting for the call from HR that says it's time to get a hair cut.

i always feel uncomfortable sitting there trying flavors because i feel like i take too long. i apologized last time i was in and i do like the guys at our shop they are very nice and he started laughing and reassured me that i can sit there as long as i need or want for that matter then he wrapped me a coil while i was trying juices haha

I'm in Houston and I've been to that shop in Humble you are talking about. I'm 40, no tattoos, no piercings other than my ears and I'm sure they got a good laugh at the "soccer mom" in the shop. It's the ONLY vape shop I've ever felt uncomfortable in.... Until my husband came in. He had been on the phone in the car. He's in law enforcement and quite large - he used to be a pro wrestler. They were pretty nice then. Lol.

Still won't go back though.

ROFL!!! That's why I take my husband with me too, but he's a completely different looking sort of bad@$$ -- exactly like a cross between Charles Manson and Willy Nelson, on a bad hair day; long hair, wild beard, and in the winter, a well-used black leather jacket. With him beside me, nobody has ever had the nerve to say BOO to me. :D He's a small guy, shorter than me in fact, but his "persona" is HUGE! And those wild eyes... ;)

The one and only vape shop I have near were I live also sell all kinds of Porn movies, and "accessories". I don't feel wierd at all, I just head to the vape area anyhow. They dont have much of a selection but I do stop in there for a bottle of juice if I'm in a pinch. They sell 10ml bottles for like $8.00. Needless to say I have bought 1 bottle of thier liquid and vaped it, it sucked. So now I make sure to have enough liquid around to last me a year :)

Sounds like a total badass!

I've found the same. If the employees believe in it then it's a good store. If they are just working to make a buck then let me out. The cooper street Artisan in Arlington TX is like that. Bunch of jerks from my experience and other people telling me. There is only a few shops I like to go to: Vixen, Mid-Cities, and Gothic in the Fort Worth area. I don't like the employee looking at me with a variable voltage and talking down to me about it. There are vape snobs I can do without.

Vixen is great, love the employees there. Have you tried the Artisan on Overton Ridge? It's not far from Vixen. I've never had a problem with the employees there. Though I don't care for the decor, feels too fancy for me. Vixen feels much more laid back. There's another shop on Overton Ridge across the street from Freebirds but I haven't been there nor can I remember the name of it.

Sounds like you and my GF would get along well... that's pretty much her description of me... except she just goes for the straight 'wolf in sheep's clothing' description. ...because I don't look that tough. :)

Heh... mine does. I could see my mom's alarm when we moved back down here from MI, where we met, married, and had our son; she'd only ever met him clean-shaven or with a short beard, but when we finally moved back, that beard had reverted to its normal sprawl. But after nearly 27 yrs (our 27th anniversary is in a couple weeks, on the 20th), she's decided that he's quite alright, no matter how scruffy he looks. Though she does harangue him about his hair, if he doesn't put it in a ponytail. :D

Being part of the motorcycle community I run in to this all the time. Some of the nicest guys I know(don't tell those dicks I said that) can make people pretty uncomfortable just walking in to a room.

i only feel uncomfortable if i have to take grandma with me. she had a slight altercation the last time i took her after she asked the kid behind the counter to use the restroom and the smartass looked at her wheelchair and noticed it had a poo pot under the seat and said, "can't ya just take a dump right there in your chair?" well that was the limit. before i knew it she wheeled herself behind the counter and gave him a swift, hard punch in the gonads (it was the only area she could reach) which he won't soon forget. gotta say, she still packs quite a punch for someone who's mostly made up of gristle and bone powder. anyway we've been banned from going there now so i figured just ordering our supplies online is probably best for all involved.

Good for Grandma!!! A lady should never have to take crap like that from some punk too stupid to know to respect his elders! :thumb:
