Its nice sitting at home, taking a long drag and blowing out a huge cloud of vapor. However there are times where this would be a bad thing, now my question is: Has anyone figured out a stealth vaping solution? Mainly a juice that didnt create a fog effect. Or am I just stuck holdin in my hits for a few secs? I mainly would like this for work, where one person (since march of 09) .....ed about my ecig in the break room (that she was passing through, not even sitting in) so a manager told me not to use it. So far Ive just held in hits and if anyone says anything Ill tell them its turned off (juicebox mod) and that its helping like a straw does for a smoker.
That's an interesting problem!
When I make eliquids, I usually try for the maximum smokiness starting with a VG-based high-concentration nicotine solution and cutting it with pg and candy-flavorings to get the desired strength. Your specification would require the opposite approach.
Logic dictates that the problem of vaping secretly in public is a matter of getting rid of the visual signs and the smell. My approach for my initial stealth vapor was made to leave a lot of 'smoke' but as little smell as possible. In order to get rid of the visual component, I think you would need to leave out the VG altogether. Then you would have to eliminate the flavorings to decrease the risk of detection by smell.
I think you might best accomplish this by using low-concentration, pg-based nicquid and then cutting it with something orderless, inhalable and chemically inert. This leads me to wonder how much distilled water an e-liquid can take and still be useable. I think I might have to do some research and expermentation soon.
As a first try, I would suggest your trying a low-concentration, pg-based, unflavored solution coupled with your technique of holding the draw in. I have just tried it and holding the vapor in for a count of eight to ten seconds leaves me exhaling next to nothing even with my smokier personal mixes.
Between a no-flavor, all pg and water mix and your technique, I think you might be on to something. In fact, you might just have made going to the movies a whole new experience.
Thanks. If I find anything interesting, and I remember, I'll PM you the results.
