Anyone have this happen? Black from battery seems to be falling off.

Most of the black around the button on this manual battery flaked off easily, but the rest of it seems pretty firmly on there. Any ideas on how to just go ahead and remove the rest? I like the black, but since this happened I ended up ordering an X2 in just the silver. I don't mind the silver at all, and if some kind of solvent might remove it easily then I'll go ahead and do that. I don't see the point in shipping it back, and it works perfectly fine so I don't really want a replacement.

Any ideas on how to strip the whole thing?

One of my blacks has a few scratches but they are from careless transport in my case. It rubbed against the knurled part of my T3. Hasn't peeled anymore from where the scratches are yet. But if it does I have no one to blame but myself. Hope my other two don't experience this.

I'm wondering if some people experience the peeling because of juice seeping down on the coated surface. Or over cleaning with alcohol. Just a thought.

It might have something to do with the juice. It started around the button, and I know if my CE3s are leaking I'm getting juice kinda everywhere. However, it started peeling away in some spots where it had gotten scratches from my keys.

I'm not overly upset about it -- I kinda like the steel look, and I feel like it's partially my fault for just tossing it in my pocket sometimes. I think I'll try rubbing some alcohol into it to see if I can get the rest of it off.

I have had this happen to 2 of mine (yella auto and a red manual) but it was after about a year of riding in my pocket with all of my other junk. By this time the batteries have started to lose their zip anyway. I have just scraped it off with my fingernail.
I know its my fault and wrapped a little electrical tape around them as I like to have more grip on them. Have to change the tape every couple of weeks. I now have replacements on order.
