Anyone having VG troubles?

I got my 901 prodigy and burnt out 2 brand new RN style atties in approx. half hour each. I thought maybe the RNs were the problem. I put the DSE atty from puresmoker on and it didn't pop, but was still getting gunked up and not preforming good. I was vaping some DIY liquid that contained 20% VG, so I switched to a straight PG recipe and notice the DSE atty was performing a lot better. Since then I have been punishing an RN atty for the last 3 days, just vaping the .... out of it and not even blowing it out and it is still running like a champ. From what I've seen VG + 5V = dead atties. Just wondering if anyone else has had any similar experiences.

I did check the dead RNs with a multimeter, they are in fact toast and I'm not trying to say VG is evil, this is just my experience and wondering if anyone has had similar.

i can't agree. i use appx. 50% Glycerin in all my mixes, and have not had any atty issues with the 901 Prodigy.

my mixes are generally:

20% flavor
20% nic (36mg)
50%/10% G/PG (give or take)

Huh, maybe just had a couple of bum atties. Do your atties gunk up more with VG than PG? Are you using DSE or RN style atties?

i just had a dumb moment, i forget which was which. they have the little SB-### inside the threads, that's true DSE i believe?

and they seem to work fine, i don't use them a whole lot though, mind you, and i try to drain them and wash them out once a week or so. i dont' "swap" attys either, i use the same one until it just doesn't seem to be performing as it should, and then switch to the next one. i have one from March that does still work, but i think it's about to give up. The atty i'm using now i've used at least a month straight with no noticeable drop in flavor or vapor, so it doesn't seem to be gunked up.

without breaking it open and looking i wouldn't know for sure though but no, i don't seem to have any issues with gunking more with VG vs PG.

i use VG more because of viscosity, the PG just seems so thin to me and tends to pool and drip more.

I use straight VG only and just add my own flavoring and I haven't had a problem
