Congrats T1, I am sure you will love it.

I have tried quite a few different coils with all different wires but this one is my all time favourite. It has been in one of my RM2's for about a month.

I take the cotton out every couple of days, dry burn it and it's as good as new. Takes less than 5 minutes.

28g Kanthal A1 dual coil (8x2wraps) 1.65mm bore coil - 0.58 ohms - air hole bored to 1.5mm

It was a toss up between the Reo and a Paps X to be honest. I did have a look at a German site for the Reo, but they were out of stock, so ordered direct from Reo. Love my Vmod, so I'm sure I'll really love the Reo. Just hope I don't get stung for import duty now.

I was gonna try a micro coil first on the RM2, so thanks for the recommendation. Does the 1.5 mm airhole make a big difference to the draw, I've drilled out my drippers and can really notice the difference.

Also I've got quite a few of the AMG hybrid attys for the Vmod, so I might try them in the Reo too.

haha, balls to that... after a dozen or so puffs its coming through burnt as hell taste and doesnt seem to be wicking - at least im on the right track though... what sort of position should i be looking for the coil to be in with silica?

And when did you make that wee investment ian? :) I'm thinking of one myself for next year!

Maybe your coil is too tight mate, leave it for a while to rest. If it vapes ok then for a while, then dry hits - your wrap is probably choking the wick a bit.

I pulled the trigger tonight on the Reo.

Nice! I was half considering getting one next month, but thats just daft, i need to learn more first before splashing the cash again. I do like the look of those zenesis sidewinders too, but i'm not encouraged by their (electronicstix) shipping methods, no option for tracked or insured and a statement that infers they arent going to do anything about it once it leaves their shop.

I think the coil has just got pulled all out of shape, it was kind of vertical at first and has now ended up like a wee wiggly worm between the centre post and the wick hole with some big gaps and some small!

To paint a clear picture of my nearly 3 months Reo experience, none of the tubes in my signature have had a battery in them since I got the Reo

The SS Paps V2.5 I bought new has never had a battery in it or an atti screwed in the top.

I still love the paps and super t's, they are fantastic pieces of art but I am still enjoying the Reo so much.

Right, im off myself now. I think you were right about the coil being tight btw ian... just looked at it and it is throttling the life out of the wick. I'm encouraged though... I'll give it another go tomorrow night and hopefully have something useable set up for weekend :)

Night all.

When you make a new coil tomorrow cody, Wrap the wire around a toothpick along side your wick, this will give it stability. And prevent you from wrapping to tight then just slide the toothpick out, and you should have a perfect coil.

Good night mate.

Yes, I watched Chunk and Greenman on Saturday and Greenman made one of these coils... Wrap it around a needle/pin, push all of the coils up against each other, torch it to make it hold the shape, test the oHm =] He was doing sub-oHms. I wasn't sure if you vaped with the wire alone or if you put some wick through it :/ I am using Fasttech's coils, so I am fine for awhile =] I was just considering making those small coils that you put in the Protanks and such =]

AND wondering where I could buy these already made :/

QUOTED from another thread:

View attachment 258038

Octopus style coils =]

2 pieces of 2.5/3 Silica folded over (so 4 long tails) with 3/4 wraps of 32 Kanthal which gives me about a 1.7-2.2ohm resistance. When I put it together I wrap the long tails inside. I like this setup because I find the extra wick lets me drip 12-14 drops at a time with no leaking at all.

One of my coils was like this when it arrived =] Burned in like 4 places :/ I am not sure how it got burned all over the place, maybe the kept recoiling the same yarn? Anyway, I put it away to look at it, but I won't reuse it.

I thread it with rolled cotton. I think some have tried without a wick but hasn't been good.

I'm just wondering if it's worth me getting a KFL now whilst C9V have them in stock? I know i am going to be wanting one soon, but just wondered if they are always readily available or (especially with their ever-growing popularity) if they are likely to be an out of stock item soon and then i'd be sat waiting for them to come back in stock so i can pounce on them?

One thing i do think that's a bit strange with the Kayfun range though... for such an expensive item it seems a bit odd that the clear tank they offer with them is polycarbonate. Surely, the people who buy them would rather pay the extra for a pyrex option.
