Cheers Ian, It really is an eye opener isn`t it ! I never thought ekowool would be beat for flavour but how wrong was i :) Luckily enough i have only got about 6 inches of silica left, so that can go in the bin now. Oh and the lovely scruptious clouds it produces, mustn`t forget that.:toast:

My problem is finding and treating a good source of cotton what does everyone use?

I guess there is a reason silica is 63p a meter and Eko 3 times that unless you buy in bulk;)

Hiya mate,

I am using sterile cotton wool balls, available from any good chemist (boots etc)

EDIT: Trouble uses the make-up removal pads, which he cuts into 2 mm strips. Either way cheap as chips:toast:

Cheers for the info, when I get my FT Vapemail (when;)) I can give it a go, I gave it a brief go 3 weeks after I started vaping with a Kanger Atty it worked poorly but I wasn't being realistic with a ProTank and being a newbie!

Im not sure I could get it right with a Ithaka clone given the design so will have to wait! Roll on the dragon.

Yep i think you would struggle with the ithaka mate, It took me 12 months to try cotton (in an evod) and it didn`t do it for me. I think i had just put too much cotton in the coil though, so it wasn`t wicking right.

But since trying it again in the I atty, i will never go back to silica, or ekowool for that matter it really is that good. Just take your time, and when you get a a good cloned atty in your arsenal just go for it, you will be glad you did.

2 Orders arrived inside 3 days of eachother :)

First one with some pre-made coils, which is handy for now. Along with a couple of bottles of liquid - Liqua Mint and 50ml of Dekang Mint, which leaked during it's journey :(

Todays package was 3 bottles of Liquid, Liqua Traditional Tobacco, Berry Mix and Hangsen RY4.

I've fallen in love with Liqua's Berry Mix, absolutely gorgeous. Didn't bother dripping first, the smell was good enough to just fill up a tank straight away :D Yum.

Ian help LOL,

I tried filling the i atty before, tilted on it`s side as lisa suggested and i was gettling the same thing (covered in juice) still getting an airlock.

So i decided to take the wick out, left the fill screw out and filled no probs. I thought i may as well make a new wick now, so i did. put the wick in, and all i am getting is that horrible burning again; It seems that the juice just isn`t wicking at all, and i am just confused as hell now, as all i did was change the wick.

It has gone from being a really lovely vape, to the crappiest you could imagine.:(

EDIT: I replaced the wick with a new one, and left the atty to sit for 30 mins. Fantastic again now, lovely:) I just think i was being greedy and trying to vape it too quickly after replacing the wick:p

The only thing i need to know now is bloody filling it up without having to take the wick out everytime.

Hi Zero. As long as you buy an untreated, unbleached 100% cotton, it doesn't matter if you use cotton balls, make up removal pads or even take apart a q-tip. If you want to add a small amount to try there's some here - not the cheapest, but easy to work with :

Cotton Pad (5 pcs) - White Fog Ltd - E-Cigarette Shop UK - Best E-Cig

Cotton works best in things like taifuns, kayfuns and any vertical wick set-up (like an aga, iatty or similar), I also use it in Vivi novas :)

I has a bit of leakage with one of my FT juice orders too mate. But it was only about half a mil from a 50ml bottle, so wasn't too bad - the parcel smelled lovely though ;)

You do need to let it sit for a while mate. Also if you use just a little bit too much cotton, it swells up and chokes off the wicking to the coil. It's a fine balance between superb and bloody awful. That's why I use the make up pads mate, cos I know when I cut them to size, they will be the right size if you know what I mean.

Have you got enough room to get a syringe down the side of the wick for filling Terry.
When I fill the aga, I tend to take out two of the spare screws and fill through one of the holes, that way I don't get an airlock. Then put both screws back in, when it's filled up. In fact, sometimes I vape it with one screw completely out, especially with thicker juice (50/50), just got to remember to keep the tank upright. If you don't have a spare screw in the iAtty to take out, try tilting it but have the filling point facing upwards and fill it very slowly, taking the syringe out every few seconds to release any pressure. I'm not sure what the iAtty fill system looks like, but I'd try one of these suggestions first mate.

I've just been looking at the iatty Terry. It just has a wick hole, pos post, neg connection and one fill screw, is that right mate ??

If it just has the one fill screw, you'll need a long needle syringe that's a lot thinner than the fill hole - otherwise pressure will build up in the tank. You'll still need to fill it slowly though.

Anyway, today's update :

The Fogger has landed. Plus my mini butane torch has arrived too.

My order for the vacuum bags and tips (which shipped weeks ago) has finally landed in the UK, so I should have that soon. Then all I'm waiting for from FT is the fabled Kayfun clone ;)

So it looks like a busy day off for me tomorrow. Plenty of tank cleaning (RG500s, Fogger, Novas, Rocket and RSST). Plus I need to re-wick the magic Taifun that doesn't use any juice - it's starting to discolour my GVC a bit now.

Only had a quick look at the Fogger, some of the O-rings look a bit EEWWWW and the mesh that it came with is going straight in the bin. But for the price it seems a good enough piece of kit, full review to follow.

The butane torch is superb though. Nice compact size and a cracking flame for toasting my micro coils, I'm looking forward to playing with this - I'll see what I can set on fire tomorrow (not the curtains though)

Thanks ian, i did just get another burnt hit so i checked the latest wick i put in. Indeed it has swollen, so it is very tight in the coil (i must have got lucky) the first time i put a wick in.

I will just make a new one, till i get it right. As for filling i dunno, i will just have to keep trying different methods.

Had mail again today my chi clone has arrived
Aios dripper coiled and wicked bottle of ry4 purchased and loving it.
The kick from ft is fine as well
Took the rocket to work this morning and polished of another tank of juice with no problems.
Happy days:)

With the chi clone I put a 3/32" o-ring in the switch Daz. Otherwise you can have problems with self firing with some batteries mate. The 3/32" O-rings are a perfect size to keep the base of the battery just off the switch contact. It means you can use the Panny batteries that don't have insulation around the base of the battery, without any problems.

I know the real chi doesn't have a delrin insulator in the switch, which to me is a bit dangerous - lots of potential for self firing :(

Maybe try some of those cotton pads I linked in the previous post mate, see what you think. Like I said, it does take a while to perfect, but as you know, when you do, it's amazing.

I think if you can find a thin needle syringe that should do the trick. I know there are different gauges with needle sizes, just a case of finding the thinnest mate.

The finish on the fogger isn't brilliant, but I don't mind as long as it vapes well and doesn't leak ;) I'll have a play tomorrow, first thing after ditching the mesh, I'm gonna use a new o-ring for the wick seal. The one that comes with it is about 10mm wide and has to stretch to about 3 times the size, to fit in place right - not good :(

The butane torch, is a little cracker though. Fits in the palm of the hand nicely. I've always been a bit of a pyromaniac on the quiet

I dare you to tell the girl on the till that you need them for taking off your make-up after doing your drag act

If you can't be bothered going to Boots, just get some from that link for white-fog mate. With them being square you should be able to get quiet a few wicks out of them, with no wastage :)
