Ok mate first off,10 drops is way too much, hence the leaking. 2nd i wouldn`t worry about using the vamo and watts, put it on a mech with a fresh battery. It sounds like you flooded it mate.so just keep going till it dries out a bit, then just add about 4 or 5 drops, and top up as you need to. i use 3mm silica doubled over, then trim the loose ends and leave the loop. try and get it so the loop is sticking up more or less leaning upwards so it rests against the sleeve. it usually takes about 15 20 minutes to run a new coil in mate, just stick with it you will get there.:)

Cheers for that mate. I'll have a play later on with it. To be honest, I had a feeling it might be flooded, guess with everything new it's a learning curve.
Anyway, I'm going out soon, got to take "she who must be obeyed" to work soon, so you and Paul can call me for a bit

Back in an hour or so

oh and don`t forget to line up the airhole mate, so it is directly in front of the coil, you may have to adjust the coil, by either lifting it up or down a bit.

Just a little more info mate,

You only need about 1.5 inches of wick doubled over. just make sure to saturate the wicks, from scratch i will prime the wick, give it a few pulses, sleeve back on then about 7 or 8 drops. now bear in mind, i am dripping from a 10 ml bottle, so the drops will be a lot smaller than say a 30 ml bottle. so if you are using a 30 ml bottle i would say for an rda the size of the yk1 about 3 or 4 drops max. the cup at the bottom only serves to catch any excess, and that will be wicked back up as you vape.you don`t wanna fill it mate, like the first time.

Well I think I've got it sussed now mate. Thanks for all the advice, I do appreciate it.

When I got back home, I had a proper look at it. Got rid of the excess juice and lined up the airhole - I had it about a 1/4 of a trurn out, also my wick was too far down in the tube.

I'm now dripping 4 or 5 drops from a bottle with a smallish opening, getting at least 10 good draws at a time. I think I will drill the airhole out a bit more cos it's quite a tight draw. But I'm really impressed with it. For the size, it packs a real good punch. I'm using the standard coil for now, but I'll give it a new wick on my next day off. I think when I do open up the airhole, I will need a lower nic juice though.

Thanks again for all your sage like wisdom Terry, good info as always mate

Hey Hey Ian,

Glad you are getting there mate. yes definitely open up that hole, i had the same thing with my V5. I tried running it with dual`s when i first got it. found it very harsh, if you remember ?. It was getting mad hot, drilled out the hole. no more harshness, even with 18 mg juice. And as i have said blowing some really nice clouds with it. when my new drill bits arrive, i will put another hole in and run it with duals. Then that will be some serious s**t Ian believe me.:toast:

That's one thing I did notice when the airhole wasn't in the right place, the dripper and the battery tube were getting really warm. I do remember the problems you were having before with the V5. Must admit dripping does suit my style of vaping, cos I tend to take a few good hits then put the device down for a while when I'm at home. I'm glad you persuaded me to give dripping a try :D

No problem Ian, after all we are all here to help each other. I only know what i know, by asking advice on here.

Yeah good airflow, and a good build is what makes a good rda. I do the same when dripping mate a couple of good blasts and i am good.

Well for a few seconds lol

Bloody ugly looking thing, seriously though, end of the day it is just a tank. and i am guessing it will only perform the same as a protank, or vivi.

Have any of you tried an evod on your mechs yet ? Fantastic.

Sorry mate too busy dripping at the moment, just kidding

Yep, had an Evod on my KTS+ earlier on, had to use a 510/ego adapter though, still hits great with a cotton wick.

I mainly use the Evods on my SVD, so I can play around with the watts.
