The multimeter will probably give you a slightly off reading anyway, mine is about 0.6 ohms out, so the 510 ohm meters are a good investment. I just check my builds on the multimeter, then stick them on the Vamo - it will still read a low ohm coil, just won't fire them![]()
I was looking at Mt Baker today - looked at the make your own but thought it too hit n miss trying to make a Key Lime Pie ...then realised that I can get the ready made Key Lime, Cheesecake, and Whipped Cream separately! That way I can add varying quantities to taste ..and, the creamy ones will mix with other fruits, caramel and coffee ones!I know you say you haven`t really found a blueberry one which you really like trish, but if you do ever order from MT i would say definitely try the blue moo. One flavour shot, and with every draw you get a lovely mouthfull of blueberries and cream, and it is very creamy.![]()

On a seperate note i phoned the dentist earlier requesting sedation. The receptionist explained that i was only booked in for a 30 minute appointment, and you need an hour for sedation.
I think I may just do that some time soon!Thats a great idea trish, and MT are really inexpensive too, so why not.![]()
Didn't think to tell you that you needed someone to take you home! You are a fair bit dopey for a while afterwards. Worth it though! On a seperate note i phoned the dentist earlier requesting sedation. The receptionist explained that i was only booked in for a 30 minute appointment, and you need an hour for sedation. Also i would have to have someone with me to escort me home.
So no sedation for terence, I told her that when i last had some teeth pulled i felt every single one of them come out and it was very painful, to which she replied "That is not good, you should not have felt anything at all, and if you do - tell him and he will give you more numbing stuff." That just goes to show, the last dentist where i had extractions, had NOT done her bloody job correctly And i will never go back there again.
anyone get in on the plume veil clone yet?
I have the acerig one and would like to know how they match up
Got my jewellers magnifying glasses today and managed to make my first 2 really decent coils, both 1.2ohm 4/5 wraps of 29 awg, they work brilliantly as singles but when I tried to put them together in a dripper as dual, it kept saying there was a short - what am I doing wrong?
Bob, Is it shorting when you fire it up ?? If it is then you have either a loose wire, or a wire touching somewhere it shouldn`t. ie: The bottom of the deck, or the wall of your dripper.
Thats all i can think of for now mate.
Yes, it was shorting when I tried to fire it, really weird, I used my Provari Mini, and when i checked the resistance it said 0.8 (should have been 0.6) and both coils glowed up okay centre out, but then showed the short error, this was with the top of the RDA off, checked that coils weren't touching anything that they shouldn't, suppose it could have been a loose wire in the positive post, which is the one that both coils are threaded through.
Anyway will give it another go later in the week, have now got 2 RDAs set up with single coils and some naturevape cotton, which I'm going to use up before I start on the rayon.

Once it settles down I think the multimeter gives an ok reading, checked it against known resistance coils and it seemed there or there abouts. Hold the leads as still as possible and wait a few seconds and it calms down and fixes on a number for a bit before jumping up and down again, I'm taking the lowest number it fixes on for a few seconds as the closest reading. Touching the leads together alone gives 0.1ohm so I usually take that away from the reading as well. Tried a 1.5ohm kanger coil and it landed at 1.5 or 1.6 (including taking away the 0.1) so seems about right.
Might get a 510 one anyway, looks a lot simpler than having to hold the leads perfectly still while balancing an RDA.
You use a vamo to check, do you know if the SVD reads sub ohm coils (but presumably doesn't fire them) like that? I see on your signature you have one
Separate issue, I know the SVD has a 5A draw limit and I've found it quoted as having a 1.2ohm lower limit for coils, but reports seem to vary as to whether it will fire below 1.2 ohm. People suggest it will as long as the 5A isn't hit? Do you have experience of this?

Just been doing some FT reviews for my last order, so hopefully by the time I get home they will be live. Up to $11.20 on my rebate points, so time for another $10 freebieI see FT are still having issues posting batteries again. One day their ok, the next their not

Sounds like you've got a pretty good multimeter then. Mine is 0.6-0.7 ohms out when I touch the leads together.
The 510 box will make life easier, as it will hold the RDA while you're building the coil too. I tend to use my Vamo, cos it keeps the coil at eye level for me, which I find helps - especially with dual coils and twisted ribbon etc. Can't say I've ever tried checking the resistance on the SVD, I know mine won't fire anything below 1.4 ohms though. So sorry can't help on your main question.
I think the drugs they use now are much faster acting and only take a few minutes. When I had a regular dentist (years ago), I found if he left me for about 15 minutes I couldn't feel a thing after being numbed. But if he tried to work on my teeth any earlier, I could feel a lot of it.
I just looked to see when my Nautilus BVC coils had been despatched, and then checked the part that says 'reorder':
Replacement Coil Heads for Nautilus Clearomizer (5-Pack)
Nautilus, Coil Head, 1.8ohm, 5-Pack
SKU 1701001: Ships in 5 business days
Also, Part no 1701000 for 2.1ohm says 'in stock', but neither part no. actually gives the item when clicked on, merely a search results page for miscellaneous items.
Odd.
The order was despatched on 30th, so it'll be a while before they arrive.
I've been using the registered airmail option as it seems the fastest available at the moment, and an order received this morning had taken 18 days.
(interestingly, it was in the post box and hadn't been signed for despite stating 'to be signed for' on the label!)

Thanks for that. I guess I'll see when I get an SVD. Multimeter cost me £10 so can't be that brilliant haha.
Also I've heard don't bother ordering batteries from FT as they won't make it here.

I think the drugs they use now are much faster acting and only take a few minutes.
I was with my husband when he had a biopsy done early this year, and by the time he'd injected it and then gathered what he needed, it was numb.
