Ok mate i will get one next year, and yes that is the tube i was talking about Ian the main central one. No more mole grips on any tanks LOL, but is there an easy way to de-pressurize these sort of tanks ???

I think the idea is that the only time you want to de-pressurize it is when you fill it or take it apart for cleaning. The pressure is what supplies juice to the wick. I know with the KFL people say be careful about flying with a full tank, cos the difference in pressure can cause leaks, it will be the same with the Taifun.

Yep your right mate about the FT one. On mine the tube is fixed to the tank. I'd still be careful though about removing yours mate, I'd be worried about knackering up the seal on it, if it's a tight fit.

Anyway. It's that time of night for me again. See you later mate, off to do some koboing.

My Taifun shipped with the chrome-plated deck and I have asked for a replacement.

If anyone is thinking of ordering one, it might be worth asking if they are 100% stainless from now on.

It's caused quite a stir in the UK, a lot of unhappy vapers. I'm not really that bothered, it's a 99% thing that FT will send the replacement bit and I can go back to using it next year.

My FT Taifun got delivered last week still not got to see it, raised a ticket for the SS deck we shall see? From what some have been saying The Taifun, KF 3.1 and KFL clones are all brass decks or the FT KFL clone that has soft steel screws that rust in a few hours soaking in tap water.

Whats the full UK retail price for a bona fide Taifun GT, Kayfun 3.1 and Kayfun Lite Plus and everyone is complaining?! Some UK vapers are just whinging cheap skates;) no offence meant! :)

I have been using mine as it came lol, how did you check it was plated and not stainless ??

EDIT: my kraken also despatched overseas today. Has anyone tried the s/s rope wick for their vertical wick tanks ?? This is the reason i am asking :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bv59SBuZp1M

I had a look during the washing and building mega-thon that started 5 minutes after I mugged met the Postman on my drive.

It was obvious in all honesty, as I already had the heads up. :)

I'm not whinging. I know what you mean though. :)

Apologies for the rant! I wasn't having a go at you, just tired of reading all the FT forums and I ordered a couple of KFL clones when they first appeared on FT 2&4 Dec after 2 months of trying they were shipped last week, seems they are brass too and rust in hours in tap water (standard steel screws) (supposedly all new and unshipped orders will be SS) you have to laugh I knew I should of got one from cloud9 There are some nice pics too of the Kraken rusting too!

Such is life you roll the dice some yo win some you lose!

It's all over the FT forums seems to be fairly common with recent clones whether there Higar, Ehpro or ToBeCo there is a flood of people requesting SS decks I got mine last week but I haven't seen it as I live on a boat small parts and coiling just don't work ;) I would think you can tell from the internal coiling screws threads as this would wear the plating like I said I havent seen it until i get back to terra ferma. But given the countless tickets and people now posting there SS decks have been sent out it seems that way.

All pics from FT forums these are not mine, it may not be true!?

To be honest a lot of clones and some genuine tanks are chrome plated brass. As far as I know the Rocket is too. Apart from the screws rusting a bit, the main thing that I'd be worried about is if the chrome comes off the deck and affects the juice. From what I've read, it depends on the process used for the chroming and how thick the chrome layer is. If it's basically sprayed on thinly, then I'd be worried. But if it's been electroplated thickly, then for me it's not a problem.

If you look at the old chrome car bumpers, if their re-plated properly, the chrome lasts for years - despite the Great British weather. But if it's done cheaply, it won't last 2 weeks ;)

So for me, I'm not too worried about it. I pumped enough crap into my lungs when I was smoking

Ian did you see my post 4548, about the wire rope ?

Just had a look at the vid mate.

Couple of things I did notice - he didn't mention the flavour, but I'd imagine at 0.8 ohms it would depend on how well the juice could handle it. Made some good clouds though, but he didn't inhale it.

The only reason I've not tried rope before is I'd be worried about trying to cut it. I know it wicks better than mesh, cos of the construction. But if you decide to try some, I'd be interested what you think about it :D

Yeah todd did a vid as well when he was building the kraken using rope, but he used mesh over the rope. I am thinking of using ekowool over it, but i think i will do a bit more research before i get some.

Also i dont know what diameter rope would be best to fit through 3 mm eko.

Haven't got a clue mate on diameter. The vape mesh company have the rope though :

Maybe get a metre of each size Terry, it would work out about a tenner for all 8 sizes. You'd probably need some decent snips or "gilbows" to cut it with though. What size did Todd use in his review mate ??

============================

Well I've just filled up the Vmod with some Epic Banilla juice for tomorrow, it tastes bloody lovely :)

HE didn`t say mate, he just said the wickhole is about 2.9mm so he used 2.5 rope, but he uses mesh in his build not eko. is the banilla like it sounds Ian...banana and vanilla ?

I think you'd be ok with 2.5 mm rope then with 3 mm eko mate. Maybe just get some 2 mm and 2.5 mm to be on the safe side.

Yep the banilla is banana and a vanilla pastry, it's lovely mate. I also tried the "main squeeze" last night before bed. It's citrus in flavour, but not bitter and it has a menthol hit to it, but doesn't have menthol in it. It's weird cos I hate menthol vapes, but this one is really good.

I think the worst menthol one I had was the minty chocolate from FT, it was dire. Felt like I'd been licking a tub of Vicks

This Epic juice one is weird though, it even says on the site that it gives a menthol type hit but doesn't have menthol in it

I've got a few new juice suppliers to try next year too mate. I was thinking about buying direct from Nicoticket and Epic in the USA, but I'm not sure if the juice would get through customs or not - I'll just have to get it from Spiritus for now and vape it as a treat :)
