Well, I changed that fusty coil for a new one yesterday and all was good! ...until half an hour ago and now the mini Protank is gurgling ...leaking a buit at the bottom! I think I have a few dodgy coils ..and they're the ones that came in the Kanger box with a Unitank! ...suppose I'll find another new one!

I know you don't want to fiddle with your coils

But I always used to partially take them apart and check the coil spacing and do a quick dry burn to get rid of any crud before using them. I would also clean them and let them dry out when I first got them. If you can take off the long ribbed top tube section on the coil head, all the wicks, flavour wicks and the coil are right underneath, pretty easy to check. Sometimes you need a pair of pliers to get the top tube off, it's a tight pressed in fit.

If it's gurgling, it's normally the flavour wick that's become dislodged, it sits just above the coil and helps soak up any excess juice in the coil - the flavour wick is supposed to stop the gurgling.

OK, I'll change this one over and take a look at it tomorrow ..I have all sorts of tools in a drawer in here, including pliers!

The Protanks and Unitanks have become favourites of mine, mostly the mini ones but I also have a larger one of each too. The Unitank is particularly nice to use - works well and can be re-filled in situ!

I'm going to use some of the Zero nicotine maxVG I got from NT tomorrow (GCD & CB) - I used a 1/4 PG/VG mixed with 3/4 of VG tonight and got very wheezy within an hour. Need to see if it's the custard ingredients or the PG! :(
Still, with luck it'll be the PG (I hope so) and I can add some nicotine to the Zero versions!

Forgot you hate banana

1.5 mm should be ok, but I wouldn't go any smaller. On the Kayfun/Russian you have the vertical channels and the horizontal ones. With cotton you normally have the tails coming out of the coil, over the sides of the deck in the vertical channels and it finishes off laid along the horizontal ones. With rayon cut the tails shorter, they only need to be the length of the vertical channels, they don't need to touch the horizontal ones. It's easier to fully juice up the wick and stick it to the sides of the atty where the vertical channels are, before you put the chimney on. My wick tails only stick out from the coil by about a centimetre - that's all you need mate :D

Thanks mate i will crack on with it over the weekend. I think the best way will be to coil and wick like i do normally and see how i get on. I usually put the coil and wick on the base, then thread the wick legs up the chimbly, trim off level with the top of the chimbly, then snake the legs back down to the deck, just touching the channels.:) never let me down mate.

Mine was small enough to cut out without needing a graft but I do pay a lot more attention to sunblock and hats now : Carl
Yes, and it's a frightening thing to be told. Glad to hear yours didn't need a graft.
My husband got a full thickness piece taken for the graft, but there's still an indent where the BCC was removed. It may fill out a bit more in the next 18 months though.
He was really worn out when we brought him home right after it had been done, but by next day he was feeling a lot better. His inner arm did heal up very well though, and they told us to go back or phone if anything at all worried us or needed attention.

It was worth raiding the piggy bank to get that sorted, and to be honest, it cost far less than we'd anticipated.

No doubt, just like us, you're really angry that it got missed for so long.
Knowing it could spread or crop up again somewhere else if not enough care is taken is so annoying - we're all lucky it hadn't spread.

It may be a bit slow to start with, but once Frodo and company set out on their travels, it soon starts getting better. You'll be transported into a whole new world. As long as it doesn't send you to sleep straight away, that's the main thing  I do like other Authors too like Andy McNab, John Grisham and a few others, but Tolkien will always be my favourite.
It's not what I'd usually choose to read, but I'll give it a try! I'm not usually one for fantasy - prefer reality. I know when I've seen clips from the film it looks magical :)

I loved that bit of script from Bladerunner:

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion
I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. ….. Time to die.

I first heard it spoken by a famous actor (name escapes me) sat in a chair against a plain background - some sort of commercial for the written word - and it stayed in my thoughts. I still have it saved and will read it every now and then. Amazing words with the power of magical and quite emotional visuals.

The old coil heads are worth dismantling, it gives you an idea of how they work. Just hold the tube in the pliers and give the coil base a bit of a twist, the tube should come off easy enough.

Only problem Terry, if you have the wicks too long, it chokes up the juice flow and you'll get very little vapour. It honestly is best to fit the coil add the wick. Trim the wick to a centimetre either side of the coil. Juice up the wick and stick it to the vertical sides of the base, then add the chimney. With the chimney in place you should still be able to see the horizontal juice channels. It really is totally different from cotton when you set it up mate. If you trim the wick with the chimney in place, the wick tails will be too long. I know you'll suss it out though :D

There's a few quotes like that in the books and films. One that gets me goes something like this :

Death is not the end, it's just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain curtain of this World rolls back and all turns to silver glass. Then you see it, white shores and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.

Gets me every time that one :D

Yeah i will have a good play about mate, Thanks for the recommedations, but i have always built mine the way i described whether it be silica, cotton or whatever. So i will try my way first, coz i am comfortable with that, and if it is crap will have a go at your way.:)

That's a great idea Bob. It does my head in that all other programmes get set back by World Cup footie or Wimbledon. If you want to watch it fine, stick it all on a dedicated channel, except for Formula 1 - all programmes should have their time slots changed for F1 :laugh:

Ah! but at least F1 is normally on on Saturday/Sunday afternoons which doesn't really clash with anything, it's the sports that they put on in the evening Prime Time that causes problems, especially with soap fans, also the money they have to spend on showing these has caused a downturn in decent programs being produced.

My sentiments exactly! Big Brother tripe, tennis, football, repeats, same old-same old fly on the wall boredom ....it's appalling! If I relied on TV to fill my evenings, I'd be furious!
No-one in our family are either football fanatics nor tennis fans, and it gladdens me to see other people like yourself say the same: why no sport channel!

I go to see football BUT only at a local level, my team Dulwich Hamlet are in the Ryman Premier League (about 7th division in mainstream terms), one of our players has just been snapped up by 1st Division Peterborough.

I've loved the Daniel Silva books - basically, the central character is a Mossad agent who's cover is that he's an accomplished art restorer. they have 'helpers' in other countries such as a London art dealer, and the stories are extremely well written. Best to start with his first one though! (all listed on his website) :)

I see a theme there "Art", when I used to shirk (read work) I used to do a lot of reading sitting in my guards office and go through a book in a few days, but now that I have retired I seem to have given up, now takes a month or more to read a book, a couple of pages before I go to sleep.

I found the first doctor I could trust for a long time back in 94/95. He was great and totally understood my fears, and had great reception and nursing staff. Sadly, he retired and the practice was taken over by a bigger one. Awful receptionists like bulldogs!
This practice seems to put people on a conveyor and fill out tick box questionnaires, add up the score and issue a prescription for something either unnecessary or unwanted! I got a letter a week ago telling me that 'my hypertension review' was due! What hypertension review? I don't have one - nor do I want one! I see the sister every 3-6 months and she checks things until next time. That's enough for me! They know better than try to give me statins and other drugs.
They seem to hold people to ransom: do this, take that and then we'll sort out that which is killing you! :) That's what my husband got when he went back about his forehead ...he got yet another type of statin pushed at him, and sure enough, like all the others, he got severe side effects from them (I put them down the toilet!) His forehead lesion was totally misdiagnosed!
The doctor we saw had been the old ones partner, but he's let both of us down ...and half the people who've seen him too! The Sister had also been with the old practice, and she's told us that there's now a lady doctor there, and just like yours, she's popular and very good at what she does! It's her we'll be asking to see if have the need!

The bigger the practice the worse they seem to get, mine seems to have had a high turnover of other doctors recently, I hate to think what will happen when the 2 originals retire, the statin I take is Atorvastatin, I had my doctor swap me to that one because you can take it at anytime of the day, which was handy when I worked shifts, because it meant I could take all my meds just before leaving home to go to work, nowadays I normally take them all together at about 10:00

You chaps are really so very kind! So nice to see such thoughtfulness.

I'll ask our son about the books - I have a feeling he may just have them as he does read a lot, and loved Lord of The Rings ...just can't remember if he had DVD or books ...or both!

Thank you so much for such a kind thought ...I'll let you know :)
