Hi,

There are ALOT of flavor juices out there and I really like some of them, but I am worried about with actually those flavorings are and if there are any side effects of sucking those chemicals into your lungs.

I know that vaping is generally safer than smoking but could vaping unknown chemical flavorings persent a higher risk than vaping unflavored juices?

Also do you think that USA made juices are safer than say EU/ Asia made juices. I know there is no regulation for juices and that is quite scary if you really think about it.

thanks

I would say that North American companies are more definitely better than Asia liquids, just because some countries really do not care WHAT they put in the juice. I'm no more concerned with the flavoring that is in my vape than I am with the steroids in my beef, the chemicals in Mt Dew, the additives in water, etc. That's a personal opinion. If you're really concerned, check out AEMSA | American E-Liquid Manufacturing Standards Association They're trying to have a Manufacturers Trade Association that self regulates and certifies juice brands. Currently, Hot Vapes, Juicy Vapor, Kalamazoo Vapor Shop, Madvapes, NicQuid, NicVape, VaporCast and Texas Select Vapor have all been certified and finished their inspections.

To me there is no doubt that flavorings are the biggest concern with vaping.
Having said that, I don't think they are much of a concern when stacked up against what was in cigarettes.

Also keep in mind that cooks are inhaling vaporized flavors all day long.
I haven't seen any ill effects reported in that line of work other than diacetyl, which the vaping industry is well aware of.

That doesn't mean that I encourage heavy vaping of flavors, and I personally don't order extra flavoring.
It's just that in the scheme of things, I don't think it's really that much of a concern.

I could be wrong though, but only time will tell.

No, The chemicals in the flavouring are not my main concern. As pointed out, cigarettes contain an awful lot of chemicals. You should vape some nice flavours; I'm on a 60/40 vg/pg mix atm, Vaping some nice generic brand cola flavoring, Using a CE4 Carto and the basic ego stick battery. My 3rd day vaping, 1st day without a single analogue, and I must say I am not craving cigarettes at all. Vape some nice flavours, enjoy it, while we can (UK Here, I hope the nicotine isn't reduced to 4mg.)! If you can get it, get RY4, its a tobacco taste, mixed with vanilla and caramel I think. Nice flavour tho, try it.:vapor:

I think it's almost funny for people who smoked to worry about what's in their e-liquids...

People have been smoking hookah forever, and they seem to do alright. I'm not too worried.

The chemicals and the chemical reactions in hookahs are very different than cigarettes.

im very new to vaping but what concerns me a wee bit ,is that if the chinese can put poison into their baby milk powder what may they be putting into our vape juice?

It is my intention to start mixing my own juice

A growing concern, especially with the increase in incidents from Chinese products over the last few years (at least in other markets like dog treats, baby food, etc..). This is probably why there is a large increase in US-made juices.

As for the flavoring ingredients, we've been inhaling and ingesting them longer than e-cigs have been around. As long as they don't use colouring dyes (though why would they for something being vaped), I doubt we'll ever see any sort of risk associated with them. HOWEVER, I'd be careful about ordering non-American made coffee flavor. You can extract coffee flavors very easily, however they'll contain caffeine, which you don't want to inhale. Because of regulations related to energy-drinks and the like, US products are most likely to make sure to extract out the caffeine completely. The coffee juices around now have been established, but any new pop-up places I'd be worried about if they just trying to jump into the market quickly.

I stick to all-natural, organic flavors. And I mix my own juice. No artificial sweeteners either.

The organic juices do have organic extracts, but also the ''natural'' flavors, which are not really natural, its a play on words, but the ''organic'' juice is safer,do the google dance.

I'm more worried about what I'm inhaling when I go out to walk my dog.

You read my mind!!! These days nothing is healthy for you, even organic foods at the grocery store are not really organic since half of them are GMO(Genetically Modified Organic), wonder what they use to genetically modify our so called healthy foods? Not to mention that if you drink tap water...your drinking all the meds that your neighbor possibly flushed down the toilet, and all the chemicals that seeped into the ground from changing vehicle fluids and doing vehicle maintenance and of course ALL the chemicals they use to purify the water. I honestly don't think that anyone know's how dangerous or how good anything is for us these days. A lot of tests, a lot of assumptions, and when it all boils down to it, it really depends on the person. I have known smokers who have lived very happy, healthy and LONG lives without the need for oxygen due to COPD or worrying about cancer, and then I have known people who have smoked for a lesser amount of time than I have(20 yrs) and who lost their battle with lung cancer, heck even people who do not smoke, and have not been around 2nd hand smoking have gotten lung cancer. When it is your time to go, it doesn't matter what you put in your body. I rather be a happy vaper vaping on the flavors I enjoy than worrying to much about it. I could walk out the door to check my mail and fall over dead from natural causes.
