I was thinking about changing the original EGO / 510 connector on my MVP 2.0 to a 510 connector from either Fatdaddy or Varitube.

Both of these 510 connectors have a self-adjusting spring-loaded center pin. The nice thing about installing the aftermarket 510 connector is that the atty will set flush against the MVP 2.0

Just wondering if anyone here has installed this on there MVP? ..... How much trouble installing it?

Here are a few photos (someone here on ECF posted these before, but I can't seem to find the thread now, or who posted it):

Both of those are great 510 connectors and the springs on both do not carry any current. I prefer the Varitube version only because the plate with the air channels is much thinner than the Fatdaddy version. As long as there's enough room inside for the back side of the connector and nut, it should be fairly easy. I don't own a MVP so I have no idea how much room you have to work with inside. It's hard to be sure but It looks like the owner of that last picture may not have had enough room inside to flush mount the connector against the top of the mod.

Looking closely at both the Fatdaddy and Varitube 510 connector, I believe your right ... it is thinner

Just placed my order for the 22mm size with Varitube ... Just changed the order to the 14mm 510 connector ... The 22mm is really too wide for the MVP

Thanks,

I put a 22m Varitube in mine, but I had to cut notches in the 510 top plate for the MVP's corner screws, though.

You'll have to cut away the inner holder for the stock 510, and also elongate the existing hole if you don't want overhang on 22mm attys, You'll also need to remove a cornerpiece of the switch PCB and it's holder to make room for the new connector, But it's not too hard with the right tools (E.g. a Dremel and a small vice), and definately worth the hassle.

Thanks Accuphased ...

I have a Dremel, so no problem there. The tool I don't have right now is a 'star' screwdriver bit that is small enough for the 4 little screws that hold the top cover on ... I guess I can find one at the hardware store.

Question ... On the MVP 2.0, will the fire button pull out when the 4 screws on the top cover are removed and then the top cover pulled off?

Thanks,
