I was looking at buying a voltage indicator from madvapes the only problem is the super high shipping costs. I was thinking if there was enough interest I would buy a few of them. What does everybody think?

Are you totally set on that specific device? You can get a voltmeter from like Canadian Tire or elsewhere for $10 bucks... and they have more settings. Amps, ohms (handy for checking carto and atties) and volts can be measured. It's not hard to use the leads to measure as opposed to screwing something on.... just a thought.

I guess that device is small so it's easy to bring with you for a VV device.

OK, I have been ont the site a few times and before and the only shipping options that it showed was Fedex 2 options around the $30 mark and USPS 2 options also around $30. Today I see another option for USPS for about $3. Is this just a possible glitch in the system or am I totally blind. By the way I did just place an order for one before that $3 option disappears:D

That's the option I always saw and used. Took a week which is still amazing for $3 shipping

I was wondering about the ones from Canadian Tire and the likes. So you just attach the leads to the threads of the battery or carto/atty? Interesting. I was thinking about getting a screw-on one but if these are just as easy to use I think I'll go for it.

They are good to have but if your testing your batter you have to be careful not to cross the negative and positive terminals. Very easy way to kill a battery

A regular voltmeter you would buy from CT wouldn't allow you to check voltage under load though - that's the purpose of these specific devices..

Under load? As in with a carto/atty attached? I'm confused. How would you use it if there's already a carto on the device?

You first attach the device to your PV using the male end of it without a carto/atty and fire it. That gives you the unloaded voltage. Then you screw your carto/atty onto the other (female) end of it, and fire your PV. That gives you the loaded voltage. It's good for VV devices that don't have metered adjustments.

I can't even find the ones like above at madvapes...all I see are the diy version with the pins....

I found that the search term, "assembled" gets you both the white and black models in the search return.

The picture doesn't show the male connector. It sticks out of the left end (to your ecig). The right side connector is for your atty. Another important point is that it doesn't work with pulse width modulated regulators, only linear ones. With a PWM ecig like the eGo, you get flashing 8s. Rivas give you the correct voltage and so do vv mods with linear regulators. Madvapes is working on a mod to fix this, according to the description below the product.

BTW, there's a clear glass covering the front of the module. The black one doesn't show the inner parts like the white one does.
