It seems like most folks have already taken the plunge, of course, but if you are still on the fence, what is it that is holding you back?

What questions haven't been answered? Issues not addressed? What are YOU waiting for?

For me, a bit more info and money. Things are pretty tight right now financially and $60 bucks or so is a lot to toss at something I may not like. I guess between the cash and getting my mind right, I should be taking the plunge in the next couple of weeks.

I'd also suggest that you go to the PIF forum. (Get your post count up so you can post).

Most people are willing to help each other when in a pinch.

Another place to look is the sales forum. Might find something there as well.

If you're still undecided, start another post asking members to give recommendations.

Hey Auntbeast, I was in the exact same position as you.

I simply didn't have enough money to make a mistake. I *had* to get an e-cig that would work for me, the first time, or I couldn't afford to vape. It was that simple.

I spent a couple weeks researching my brains out, finally settled on the Kr808, got my kit for $35, plus $10 for a spare battery and $7 for 5 extra cartomizers, and hoped.

And it worked. I got it right the first time. I have since tried other models, and the Kr8 is still my favorite.

(That isn't to say it will be *your* favorite, but the point is that if you think carefully about what your needs are, and buy a kit that is likely to meet them based on your research, you have a higher chance of success, whatever model it happens to be.)

So, I would recommend you just take out time, and do the homework. Look into vendors, and get a well-priced kit. You don't need to even spend $60 on it.

Then, but a some spare parts, and a couple small bottles of juice in different strengths, so you can find you "sweet spot."

All together, you can get started for under $70 if you're really keeping it basic. And with a community like this around, there is no reason you can't be very happy with what you wind up getting.

Have hope. It's worth the plunge.

EDIT: As others have said, the PIF board is WONDERFUL.

I am very involved there, which has more or less been what allows me to keep vaping. I can help other people, and they can help me, and neither of us need to pay retail price for it.

Not only does it help you keep vaping on a tight budget, but it also brightens your view of humanity a bit. :)

I'm on a tight budget too, but wanted to quit those things again. It was either spend $45 for for the gum/lozenges that help but don't really work...or.. spend that much on a kit.
I spent some time looking on this forum and other places online, then bought a kit from a local off craigslist. That was a mistake but got me started. Just bought a 510 kit and juices from Tasty Vapors and now am a very happy puffer of vapor :) You may not save any $$ switchng to e-cigs (especially at first) but you will enjoy better health and great flavors.
Keep asking ???'s, and go check the PIF and swap forums here for deals. good luck.

For me it is because I am .... rententive and will not purchase any product I do not know about until I have all the information that I need to know before making an informed decision.

I have also been holding back because of the simple fact that I am afraid to make the wrong choice. What if the one I just bought isn't for me? Money out the window.

What questions haven't been answered? Issues not addressed? What are YOU waiting for?

I have hundereds of questions mostly about the process and the compatability of my choice with the e-liquid, etc. I am actually writing everything down whenever I have a question and plan to post ... ECF is great source of information.

That's the ticket!:toast:
I made a "mistake" with my 1st, a Joye 510, but I turned it into a positive by giving it to my sister. Payin' It Forward.

Actually it wasn't a mistake...I DID QUIT analogs using it...and that was the whole purpose I bought it for.

I just did a little more research here and found something I liked better.

$15 is how many packs for you?

If you're not sure if you'll like it you might want to consider a disposable unit. For around $10 you can give it a try. Add a 10ml bottle of juice to keep you going for a few days and it'll run about $15. That's about how much you'd probably spend on analogs anyway. The Joye 510 disposable is what I'd recommend.

t9c - what model did you settle on?

What did you not like about the 510?

I didn't like the battery life on the 510's. It all makes sense now: Smaller battery=smaller life. We're just talking about the time before it needs recharging, which for me was only a couple of hours as I vape moderately heavy. I also didn't like where the switch was when the 510 was in my hand. I did a little post about my grievances here.

My next PV was the eGo. Over the next few weeks I started adding the Mega stuff...cartos & batteries. Love the mega cartos! I just got a Little Sister Variable voltage and really like it now except for the battery life again. Better than the 510, but I would rather go at least 4 hrs before recharging. I hear the Big Brother by Ken @ boxmods.net will do that, so that is my latest jones, or I may just build my own.

Exactly what I was thinking. Unless (heaven forbid) your new e-cig was DOA and not part of a kit with spare parts, you ought to at least cut back on your current smoking habit. That would be "found" money that you didn't spend on your regular amount of cigarettes.

That said, it seems some people go right off of analogs on day 1, others (like me) aren't so quick. Whatever you do, take the time to be comfortable with your choice and don't put yourself in a potential bind. You probably didn't start smoking in a few days, so don't put that stress on yourself to quit. Especially if you're on a tight budget.

For what it's worth, I was able to afford an eGo kit with some spare parts. My only real mishap was not getting strong enough juice to backfill a pack-a-day of Camel filters. The good news was that dropped my analog use by a little more than half. Even better is the new juice I ordered is relatively cheap, and got here today :D

You folks rock. (factual statement)

I am leaning towards a 510 Joye since I figure if for some reason I don't like it, it is a popular enough model I could sell it and recoup some cash, or just pay it forward.

My major hangup at this point is I really want a red or pink one. I can get one cheaper if I pick black or white, but I figure if it is something I am going to be using for a while, it should be pretty. Heck, I have a wallet that every time I open it, it feels like I'm opening a present and I've had it about 5 years. I'm goofy that way.

My husband pointed out to me that I am the biggest creature of habit he has ever seen. If it works for me, I will swear by it and use it for all eternity. I've been soaking in an awful lot of information and fortunately, I have a job that doesn't take much brain power so I get to process all the information all day.

I figure I can start with a nice, pretty Joye 510 and some juice for around $60 that should last me at least two weeks which will pretty much tell me if this is something for me. At $4 a pack ~8 packs a week ($32) it would only take two weeks to recoup the cost, if I can not smoke analogs, after that, I figure about another $50 in extra attys, batteries and juice and I should be set for a while. Possibly an extra few bucks for the pass through thingy, since while I'm at home, I could use that. At any rate, if I drop analogs, in less than a month I'll break even.

The next month may be a different story once I get the hang of the flavor stuff. :)

QUOTE]

VaporBomb has the juices you're interested in, one of the few that does clove:
e juice

They gave me a free sample of French Vanilla with my order and it's one of my favorites. I'll be ordering big bottles of that one.
