My Ego Twist and Vivi Nova has arrived and my juice should arrive in two days. I'm excited to throw away my cigarettes right after my juice arrives. I ordered the 36mg and 24 mg juice to be safe.

We all know that vaping is technically supposed to be healthier than cigs due to the lack of tar and other chemicals, but has anyone here who's been vaping long enough notice an improvement in health? such as improved lung function, etc...

PS:

What are some precautions I need to take to ensure my setup will always work reliably? I would hate to have something break down and force me to smoke an analog. I've bought two batteries, the charger, two tanks, and multiple heads, along with plenty of juice. As long as I got that, I shouldn't worry too much right? When my juice arrives, do I just pour the juice in the vivi nova, plug it onto the battery and start vaping? Any break in procedures I should be aware of?

Any hints or pointers would be appreciated. thanks

Well, I haven't been vaping long but I can say one thing, aside from some really harsh juice giving me a cough and a wheez here and there, I've felt significantly better since reducing my analog intake to less than 5 per day while using the crappy Blucigs I started with (down from a pack and a half of analogs). I now have the volcano inferno and I LOVE IT! make sure you keep your equipment clean and try not to drop it lol. Also keep an eye on your atty's threads as they will get dirty.

First of all get you a tube Mod with rechargeable batteries. Have back ups keep an eye on the classifieds you can pick up a good lava tube ect... at a used price.
The Ego stuff is disposable and made from cheaper materials. I just got a versa from vapor beast its a new mod but Its sure to be one to get it preforms very nicely.
Have back up consumables. Juice, cartomizers, tanks, what ever you like always be prepared. what if the commies come you need to have several months supply in case of siege or something!!!!! :vapor:
You will feel much better have more energy available. Cough will go away. you will smell better.
Yea just dump and Vape. you have to tip to keep the whick wet or youll get dry hits what that you say? You will know when you get one. I dont like whicking stuff just for that reason. But all thing carts attys RBAs have there little things.

I feel better and hasn't been that long yet... but i also feel worse, quitting cigarettes is causing my body to expunge a few things from it.
My smoker's cough has been increasing until today (today i have barely coughed).
I can tell you that my fluids have cleared up substantially (and i mean all fluids); as nasty as it sounds, that's what tells me this is a good thing.
I don't feel as healthy as i did when i was 15yo, but i feel better than i did ten years ago already.
My complexion has cleared up. My skin has changed color (i never knew i had a nice pinkish glow to my sin) already.

"What are some precautions I need to take to ensure my setup will always work reliably?"

Have a back up.
And another back up.
And another back up wouldn't hurt.
And another back up in the glove box.
And another back up at the office.
And another back up at the girlfriend's house, and her other boyfriend's house (if you're there you're really gonna want it and not have it).

And charger back ups.

And juice backups.

Drip (kinda pour) it in. Don't pour into the 'center' (though imo, it wouldn't hurt to accidentaly drip one drop in there to prime it). Let the wick wick up the fluid for two minutes (it will take that long to put it back together the first time). Puff puff pass.

I don't suggest throwing the cigs away right away... but that's just me, and it is up to you. It took me a long week to even think about totally giving up the stinkies (and i'm still not 100% sure, but i am 98% sure now). I decided from the git-go that if i slip and have a smoke here and there then no big deal to me. It's not a contest, not racing anyone; i did it in my own sweet time so far and will continue to do so. I rarely wanted a cig when i first started vaping (though i was vaping a horrible set up so no wonder); and i mean i really did not want one. Something just clicked with me that had never clicked before, i wish i knew what it was. Then one day i knew for a fact that i wouldn't have one the next day... and every day so far since then i have been sure i won't... but if i do, i'll have one and let everyone know who asks. I'm doing this for me, no one else. It takes time to find your flavor, your voltage, your settings, your method, your timing, your everything.

Definitely wish you the absolute best luck! Be strong.

I am not completely off the analogs but I have cut down considerably and I have noticed that I am sleeping better with less snoring. I also ran up the driveway and didn't feel like I was going to collapse. I feel a lot perkier in the afternoons and don't feel like I can't live without my nap on the couch.

Have plenty of batteries and juices on hand.

Awesome setup!

Personally I would have a LEAST one more battery - no need to be a Twist. Just a 650 mAh eGo or two. Also don't forget to rinse out and dry the tube, driptip, base and top cone of the Vivi Nova before use.

Do you have the eGo thread covers?

I have not had a cold, caught flu, or any bronchial infection for almost a year now. Also, I very rarely need my asthma pump. Like once every two weeks or so... A huge improvement!

Hi, I actually took your advice from another thread and got some juice from VaporGod, I got the 36 mg chocolate hazelnut, along with some 24 mg menthols.

As for the eGo thread covers, are you talking about something like this? eGo Thread Sleeve Type C Large Tank - Fits All Std eGos CHROME [gv-egoTYPEC-LargeTankeGoThreadSl] - $2.95 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more Well, it's sold out on Gotvapes so I didn't order it. But I thought it's for anesthetics mostly so it shouldn't hinder me to get started right? I wonder if any other places sell them...

I've been vaping for just over 2 years and am feeling MUCH better.

I use to get sinus infection after sinus infection - I've had TWO in 2 years. I use to get bronchitis a couple of times a year - NOT ONCE since I quit smoking.

And I've started exercising. Like workout, sweat thru a tee shirt exercising.

I did cough up a new lung for a couple of weeks after I completely quit smoking. But no longer wake with a morning cough. If I cough now, it's because I have a cold or allergies.

My blood pressure is better. (I vape about 6mg - weaned down over the 1st year)

I know vaping isn't proven to be 100% healthy. But I personally beleive it is healthier for me than smoking.

And after some hit or miss finding set up that work for me - it's been much healthier for my wallet! I now spend per month what I use to spend per week - and that's at what cig prices were 2 years ago.

Go to gotvapes.com and click on the Vivi Nova selection and look to the right. There is a video of a guy showing all about the Vivi Nova. I don't know how to do the fancy attachments of websites yet. You could also google videos and find how to work just about anything concerning vaping. You need an extra charger. You need at least two of everything for backups...if not more.

As far as health...I can laugh without coughing every.single.time. I can sing again AND hit the high notes (much to the chagrin of my cat). I have more energy. I smell better. I've lost six pounds probably due to the nicotine and drinking tons of water (you'll need to uptake your water consumption cause vaping will dry you out). I can't get enough water and I've been drinking three liters a day. I feel less guilt from slowly killing myself and therefore my attitude towards life in general has improved. The yellowness on my fingers is going away. My skin looks better. My hair isn't getting burned by cigarettes while it whips in the wind while smoking. I'm not risking my life on the interstate weaving and carrying on like when I would accidentally drop a cigarette. :p Good luck!

Been vaping for about 2 months now after about 23 years of smoking. Health wise, here's what I have noticed.

The first week I was a bit more...phlegmy for lack of a better term. A girl at work that started vaping had the same issues. From what I can tell, my body was purging some of the build up.

3 Days after I quit, I could smell analogues about 50 feet away. Also, could smell my wife cooking before I walked in the door.

I use to wake myself up wheezing at night. After about 4 days, that stopped completely.

I do a lot of running around at work. When it got strenuous, I'd have to sit down to catch my breath. Since I quit analogues, no issues what so ever with being out of breath.

I can taste food now. Some of the things I could eat before taste so strong to me I have to pace myself. However, other things taste so much better.

I've actually lost about 10 pounds since I quit smoking. I've been trying a lot of the sweeter vapes, and it cuts down on my desire for sweet foods.

I'm in a far better mood at work and home.

And not health related, but beneficial: No tobacco/ashes in my car. I don't have to air out so as not to smell so bad when coming back in side. I don't have to go outside at home or work any more and freeze/get wet/blister in the heat and if I'm on a long shopping trip with my wife, I can discreetly vape in store and not have to keep running in and out.

John Candy moment: Throwing your cig out the window and wondering if it blew back in on the back seat!! Or trying to throw it out and it lands back in on your lap but you cant find it. You are all over the road waiting for it to burn your ... ....;-)~

Wow. I hope you love it and aren't disappointed? I'm sure you won't be though...
Yes, type C if you are getting the large Mini Nova. If you get the Mini Vivi Nova, type B & D.

No it won't hinder you getting started. But they are definitely worth getting. Not only do they look awesome, but they also stabilize the tank on an eGo.

Most places have them....

Hmmmm - almost 5 weeks for me - let's see ....
- coughing like a fiend for the first few weeks, now rarely
- not coughing "stuff" up
- I smell good :) Found out my fabric softener smells FABULOUS and my apartment smells musty :(
- no longer can hear wheezing when my ear's against the pillow at night
- I can breathe deep and laugh hard without triggering a coughing fit
- lost a fair amount of weight - not sure how much because I don't believe in scales but I had to buy new clothes this week

As for the not so good ...
- sneezing A LOT
- lips are constantly chapped
- no longer fanatically brushing my teeth - have actually forgotten and gone to bed with brushing a few times
- food doesn't taste as good - I don't know what that's about

Yes, I've been vaping for over 2 years and I'm still amazed at the energy I have now.

PS:

What are some precautions I need to take to ensure my setup will always work reliably?

Keep your batteries charged up...even if it's just a top off charge. Keep the threads clean and wipe juice out of the connector daily.

I would hate to have something break down and force me to smoke an analog. I've bought two batteries, the charger, two tanks, and multiple heads, along with plenty of juice. As long as I got that, I shouldn't worry too much right?

Nope...sounds like you're pretty well set.

When my juice arrives, do I just pour the juice in the vivi nova, plug it onto the battery and start vaping? Any break in procedures I should be aware of?

Pour the juice in, let it sit a minute so that the wicks get saturated. It will take about a day of vaping on the tank for the coil to get seasoned and the juice to taste it's best...so don't give up if you don't think it's performing as well as it should.
