Hmmmm - almost 5 weeks for me - let's see ....
- coughing like a fiend for the first few weeks, now rarely
- not coughing "stuff" up
- I smell good :) Found out my fabric softener smells FABULOUS and my apartment smells musty :(
- no longer can hear wheezing when my ear's against the pillow at night
- I can breathe deep and laugh hard without triggering a coughing fit
- lost a fair amount of weight - not sure how much because I don't believe in scales but I had to buy new clothes this week

As for the not so good ...
- sneezing A LOT
- lips are constantly chapped
- no longer fanatically brushing my teeth - have actually forgotten and gone to bed with brushing a few times
- food doesn't taste as good - I don't know what that's about

You need to drink more water. vaping will dehydrate you. Food doesn't taste right right now because your buds are in the process of healing. Don't give up. You may even lose the taste of your juice for a few days. This is common and the flavor will return.

Around 3 years ago one of my lungs was about to collapse, i had a nasty nasty wheezing, i used to get sick (cold or cough) like 4 times a year and each time was AT LEAST 1 month long, couldnt walk long distances, etc, etc, etc...

2 weeks into my first e cig (i started right away with a tube mod, i did a lot of research before my first buy) and no analogs whatsoever, some friends at a party couldnt believe that the guy that would smoke through anything didnt had a cancer stick in his hand, told em i didnt even craved a analog and they made me taste one just as a dare, i gave it a small try and almost vomited BIG TIME, lol the look on their faces xD.

Now, waay healthier, happy and dropping weight (most of my pants dont even fit, theyll fall down without a belt-which has 1 new hole btw-).

Recommendations:

DO NOT- EVER - leave your batteries charging and unattended
ALWAYS use protected and/or safe chem batteries

Never drink the e liquid
Keep ALL E CIG stuff AWAY from children
If you are into DIY please please please read a lot first, when in doubt ask, ive had and people here respond very well
Some batteries are better used if you drain em totally, some not
Try to keep a mindset that will allow you to slowly but surely decrease the amount of nic you are using (also be sure not to vape MORE when dropping nic%)
Make it a rule of yours (it has helped me a ton) to read at least 1 hour of informative posts in this forum (not just socializing) every day, it will teach you tons of new stuff, believe me.

I am not as knowledgable as others here but if you have any doubt, even if i dont know the answer ill do my best to point you to the correct place, good luck mate :) and please keep off the analogs :2cool:

I've been off the death sticks for almost a year. I can tell you:

I feel better.
I breath better.
I smell better. (both perspectives)
I'm probably going to live longer, and it won't be CPOD or emphysema that kills me.

On the subject of backups:

Crystal Clear Vaping

It has a charger in the base, so it backs up the device/battery/charger in a single small package.

I quit about 2 and a half months ago..

I wasn't even trying to quit, I was just about to start a 2 month tour in which I'd be staying in hotels and flying a lot. So I got my GGTS up and running and got a batch of juices and started to play about and straight away I was down to 5 analogs a day from 25/30 and this stunned me. Then just after a few days it was 1 a day and then I just quit.

So before I set off on my travels I had quit. Then whilst in non smoking hotels it was simply lush just watching my vape fill the room and on the flights I just went to the toilet or vaped under a blanket. It's been a life changer.

Airport smoking rooms.. so bloody awkward. Can't go inside because it reeks and if I stand outside I'm always having to explain to everyone and security my dilemma. Where can I vape..? Also the fun of people looking at my GG like it's a crack pipe or something. I'm seriously enjoying ridding myself from analogs.

It's a no brainer. Health wise.. yes a massive improvement. I can work harder and my brain works better. I'm a better person all round because of it and my body is enjoying it.

Funny how I sometimes wake up clutching my GG instead of my ANNYYWWAYY !!!

Don't cough up butter through the day, morning coughs are mostly gone, drinking more water, lung function is vastly improved, more energy, my tongue is pink like it's supposed to be (even brushing it wasn't helping), I don't stink and I don't make the air around me stink, doing DIY makes my home office smell fantastic, the list really goes on and on. Everything about being a smoker is either gone or going.

Can swim in the Bay for miles at a time- when smoking could barely make it 100 yards. Heavy physical labor is now a breeze. Have been sick once in the last year. 1 1/2 yrs ago had nasal polyps and had them surgically removed. 6 months ago they were coming back big and bad- Surgeon said I'd have to have another operation. Went to see him 3 weeks ago to schedule an operation and they have COMPLETELY disappeared. Surgeon was perplexed and I mentioned to him I was vaping menthol. He believes the menthol was responsible as there have a been a few studies done and told me "another good reason for you to be vaping"...he's extremely supportive and active in promoting vaping and the biggest +...a really cool dude.

I have been vaping for about 2 years after smoking for 15. I never woke up one day and felt I could breath better or felt my physical health was suddenly better. However, if I compare what I am able to do physically now vs what I could do before I started vaping I can definitely see a big difference. For me, it was a slow and gradual unnoticeable change.

I use to wake up and start coughing the minute I moved, now I no longer have a morning cough. I haven't needed my asthma meds for almost 2 months now.

Make sure you wash the vivi nova well. some even boil the heads before using them. As others have said have an extra back up.

I don't know what the pg/vg on the juice you ordered was, but you might want to have a bottle of 100%vg on hand, some have problems with the pg. So having one on hand gives you one to try if you do notice any reaction.

i always used to cough like crazy after a hot shower...don't know why, but thats gone....it's less than two months but i can smell better, notice candles and things burning a lot better than i used to....i used to come home after sitting in a smoking area and never noticed how bad i stink...now i notice...it's awful

i always worked out while i smoked so i never noticed a downturn in terms of cardio...i've seen a small improvement but i'm still waiting for the day when i can run forever

This is VERY important to take into account, reading our stories might make you think it all happened overnight, while some changes did happened fast, the big chunk of changes will happen slowly without you taking notice, what i said happened in the course of years, so please take notice, as Nebulas said: it wont be a "oh i just woke up and can run 10 miles and no wheezing" but it will also come as a surprise that sometime after quitting analogs your body will just "forget" to do some of the nasty things it did because of smoking.

Well, it's now been over a week since I quit smoking completely, and I feel a lot better already. I am still coughing a bit, sometimes when my vape is a little too dense I get that choke--cough. Regardless, I feel better about myself now that I'm not smoking, I feel healthier, and I've had a much easier time falling asleep the past few days, whereas before it was taking me anywhere from 2-4 hours just to fall asleep. I am completely grateful for vaping as it has already made a change in how I feel, physically and mentally!

I feel MUCH better after only 2 weeks without smoking a cigarette. I am new to vaping and am still using different brands of disposable minis while I wait for my kit to come from V4L. I really like the Lotus that my wife bought me when we were vacationing in Moses Lake Wa, but have been very frustrated trying to find replacement cartomizers here in OR. This site and the users of it are extremely knowledgable, friendly and supportive! Best of luck to you!
