Anyone order the Magneto (Wooliston) clone yet?

The pin retainer looks to be threaded.

Got my woolie today.

so i ordered last wed from "slowtech"... opened a ticket to see when it would ship and finally got a response today saying that they are waiting for a new batch that should arrive the next couple of days. and then it will ship... uhhhhggg. this is my first purchase from fasttech and im not very impressed. is this normal from fasttech?

i am however excited to get it after hearing your thoughts on yours. cant wait!

I agree with the "slowtech" moniker but everything that I have gotten from them has been good. I'm not 100% certain but they seem to be far and away better and faster than the other Chinese competitors.

Very normal for Fasttech. Stuff always takes longer. I placed my most recent order 08/26 and just got notice on 09/04 that it was shipping. I've worked with a number of foreign suppliers and it's generally similar stuff - not to knock anybody. I would think that in many parts of China, the infrastructure is not mature enough to ensure timely deliveries such as in the US.

I started this thread, then I spent the last 5 days moving and having no interweb. It appears that several folks have stepped up to the "Wonderful Mag-Woolie" and are happy campers. As soon as I pay for an about to bill out co-op, if I have any discretionary cash left, I'll have to get me a "WMW"... or two. That's what being in the Budget Mechanical Mod Group is all about! ;-)

I haven't had any issues with the switch, but it did take a little getting used to it.

Bummer.
I verfied mine worked good out of the box, then took it all apart and cleaned all the threads, contacts and mating surfaces with 99% alcohol.
Afterwards I greased up the threads with some flashlight thread grease I had sitting around.
Haven't had any issues.
Sucks that yours is messing up.

You can get the magneto for around 40$. It's a really good mod, really good. I like clones but when the original is that good and is the price of a clone why bother. The real deal has almost no voltage drop under a .45 to .7 load. That's where my patties are.

Sorry bud but I have to disagree with your idea here. The smok magneto is a clone of the nzonic so you are in fact paying 40 dollars for a clone so Imo why not spend 22 for basically the same thing. If you want the real deal you better start saving 200 for the nzonic. How do you know this has a poor voltage drop too? When I get mine I'll let you know what the drop is. Just thought I'd let know
