figured as much, i did try a couple of cheap options over the years that never worked. hoping that some new technology has come along. how much do you suppose a job at the dentist could be done for. i heard it was expensive.

i also tried the strawberry treatment once. what you do is get some strawberries, mix it with baking soda and brush your teeth with it. the acid in the strawberries is supposed to remove the dirt while the baking soda also scratches it off. left my teeth aching for weeks though.

To be honest with you I don't really know how much it really costs I think a few years ago it was £200- £300 but there again it depends on which dentists you use as well but to be honest I don't visit the dentist unless I have to. I find if you have a good electric toothbrush and use that three times a day or as much as you can do will gradually get rid of a lot of the stains.

lol this is too funny- I was just looking into this the other day- you might get a couple of shades 'whiter' (Read, less yellow) by using somethign liek Crest WhiteStrips, but watch out, they can cause tooth sensitivity, but brushign with desensitizing toothpastes after should help- but don't expect too much of an improvement. Also, careful with home remedies liek lemon juice as they suck calcium from the teeth which is what makes teeth offcolor-hence why it works to 'whiten teeth'. The safest at home route is to go with hte crest whitestrips, and make sure the strips don't touch the gums too much. The whitening will only last a couple of months, but will go back to natural offcolor teeth color around that time so you'll always be 'touching-up' along htew way to keep them whiter-. All those pearly white teeth ya see on TV those folks are blessed with teeth that tend toward a real white anyways- the rest of us have teeth that are more naturally off color.

The stains on the surface of teeth can be overcome, but it's the natural color underneath the enamel that will determine how white your teeth can become really

Really depends how bad your teeth are. Something like crest white strips will work well, (and I've seen them work well on people I know) but only if your teeth arent too bad. If they're really bad you probably need to do one of the options they have at the dentist. I asked a couple years ago about it and it was like a 1 hour session for $500 and they use some bleaching something or other. Not sure if that's what they still do but it was the most effective method I think at the time

No, they just constantly keep bleaching them. My mom has a system like that, which you can also get from your dentist. They make molds from your teeth then you get the molds to keep, you apply the bleach(or whatever it is) to the mold then wear them on your teeth for however long (probably a couple hours) every so often.. not sure exactly for how long and how often, but it's not too much, probably once every 2 weeks or something? They seem to work very well. Her teeth are always sparkling like the commercial people lol. I want to get them too.

its true that there are different teeth out there. some have very white teeth and some people's are naturally yellow. mine are good n'brown. reckon i'll remove a fair bit of tar with a bottle of something sniffy. check out the guy below. he's from a tribe whose gene pool determines the color of his and all his relative's gnashers. no bleaching them.
