One last question, and I'll leave you all alone for a while.
It seems there might be quite a few old farts like me on here, perhaps some smoked a pipe, and perhaps some of you might have used a pipe tobacco named "Blend 11". I believe it was imported from Denmark or Sweden, but it was distributed by a company that imported it in Richmond, Virginia. It came in a nice blue can.
I've searched the web for anything about that particular brand, as I'd really like to try to duplicate the aroma it had, but I can't even find a reference to it. It was kind of warm chocalate, vanilla, sweet without being too sweet. I know that sounds like a ton of other aromas, especially in the pipe tobacco arena, but this had a very unique blend that made it just a little more likeable than Captain Black or any other pipe tobacco I used. I realize that "liking" is subjective, so I'm not trying to flame any wars here on what was the best pipe tobacco 40 years ago.
If anyone remembers that brand, and has an idea of what might be comparable as a premixed flavoring, or even suggest a blend of flavorings that might make something close, I'd really like to hear your thoughts.
Thanks
steve
