Everyone is different in what they like. I was an extremely loyal volcano customer for the first 2 years I vaped. Their gear is best suited for the new to intermediate vapers. The last year and some change I have gone more into rebuild able and mechanical mods. The best part of volcano is the 1 year warranty on their gear excluding the heating elements which only carry a DOA warranty.

If you look for deals they can be had, since you said $140 my guess would be your looking to get a lavatube 2. If you already have a 18650 mod, you can save a lot getting it a la carte. They also often have the gold and silver colors for very cheap.

I would avoid volcano. They don't seem to stand behind their product. I had bunch of issues with them and they just don't respond when it doesn't suit their needs. I've also noticed their ecig is behind the curve in terms of tech and overpriced. Case in point they came out with "bottom coil tank" last week like its a breakthrough innovation. Realistically this has been available for ages from kanger and other suppliers. Their replacement parts are also way overpriced even though it appears to be made in china like all other ecigs. Just look at at their replacement atomizer prices. At least 50% to 300% more than comparable products. I'd look into starter kits from provari, innokin, or joyetech. They're all around the same price point, have easy learning curve, and replacement parts are non-proprietary so it's cheaper and more reliable.

Also, I noticed volcano only provides plastic tube tanks so it melts when you put most ejuice in there.
