Hi there,

I have two 605 E-pipes I bought at christmas after my DSE601 decided it wouldn't give me a hit when the cartridge was inserted (only when dripping!). I can honestly say that i love these pipes by comparison. They give a monstrous amount of smoke and the battery lasts quite a while too. I would estimate about 30 long puffs on it a day for around 2 and a half days before the output gets to the stage where you need to prime-puff (two or tree small puffs before a long inhaling puff). This indicates its charging time. It does however take 6 hours to charge so that was my main reason for buying two (wasn't going to chance the analogues getting the better of me!).

It uses a special connection between the cartomizer and the pipe itself, around 7.5 - 8 mm diamter, with what looks like 4 screw threads deep that I have yet to find on the internet, and the wholesaler I bought these from have no information for me but I know it is a male connection (I want to see if I can get a tank on it somehow!) I am in the process of making my own e-pipe (carved the bowl a few weeks ago, now looking around for the best electronics) and am going to go for a churchwarden style (long) curved stem I will fashion from clay and a metal inner tubing that will allow me to have a hole through the center, and I want to use something like this cartomizer if i can.

This iteration of the E-pipe has a built in battery, which is just another way, in my honest opinion, of making you have to replace the bowl, in the same way as the atomizer was built in on the 601 model. So for me that is a negative.

The draw is very easy, nearly no resistance at all. The overall size is slightly smaller than the DSE601. I have the version that doesn't have a button, and this may prove a drawback if any e-liquid gets into the electronics in the future.

Throat hit is monstrous. I just bought some peanut butter, coffee and honey e-liquids and they are all at 26mg strength and they are giving me a biggest throat hit I have had using them in the 605 than in anything else!.

I have been using the pipe for about a month so only time will tell if it matches the 601's lifespan (for me it was 4 months, and still works if I drip), however the 605 battery is rated at 300 recharges and a quick calculation (300 x 2.5 days) gives a lifespan that should (looks both ways for oncoming hindsight) give a lifespan of 2.05 years!!.

It would probably never happen as the manufacturers would see a loss in profits but if they came up with the same design but with a removable battery AND replaceable atomizer/cartomizer i would buy it in and instant, there is very little to go wrong then. The less irreplaceable points of failure the better in my book!

Youtube Review to follow as there seems to be nothing on the 605 up at the moment. I'm guessing that a video would probably be more informative in this matter (picture paints a thousand words etc..).

It's good you mention this, because I think that if someone wants to use the pipe instead of a ecig, they would go up to 100+ puffs per day. That would really lessen the lifespan...
From all the research I've done on epipes, the most common problem is that the batteries are fixed and cannot be removed.
This was one of the reasons I ordered from epipemods.

Hi again,

Has anyone tried to use any other cartomisers/atty's with this? My dad has a titan tank which takes 510's and his hit is enormous, and I have been trying to replace the cartomiser setup with an atty/tank style, as this seems to be the best output (smoke and hit). I bought a 901 to 510 adapter from liberty flights and it seems that the interal ring is slightly too raised so it wont screw in porperly, and a 510 straight is too small.

Any thoughts? Would rather use juice than prefilled or empty carto's (difference in price similar to tailors vs rollies!)

Cheers

Forgot to mention but I bought mine from a china wholesaler on ankaka website - £90 Delivered ($140 at that time) for 2 x 605's each with mouthpiece, 2 cartomizers of my choice of flavour and strength in each pipe's box (mines 26mg and strawberry for 1 and apple the other) and 2 x 5ml bottles of the aforementioned Liquids. Considering its exactly the same manufacturer that epuffer uses and they are selling them at £79 EACH (2 would be $250) without delivery included, I believe i got a good deal!

This was ordered about 3 weeks before christmas and i had them in my hand in 11 days! I wouldn't have bought them from such a place if I hadn't already experienced their services with 2 x 601's, which i can say one is still going strong after 6 months (dont ask me how, I'm not sure!) and the other is giving me no joy with the cartridge inserted by fantastic if i drip.

Hope this Helps

Hi,

Just found out that the Cartomizers (eaze magnum rev 2) are KR808D-2 Compatible and the wiki for compatibility says E9 is the same. I just bought a converter - Female (or battery) KR808D-2 to male (or atty) 510, so i can use a tank and see how that gets on. I am not happy that epuffer have ONE!! flavour of cartomizer available, when they assured me they would have several by the end of february, and I am eating up my liquid using my old 601 by dripping.

Would also be nice if someone could add the 605 to the Wiki?
