No filler! So was wasondering if anyone used these in a DCT or any tank and if they leaked. I'd assume the hole would have to be pretty tiny. I like dual punching, so i'd probably make the holes just enough to pierce through the metal.

Ideas? Experience?

I made 5ml syringe tank for my SS CE-2.
It works fantastic and doesn't leak at all.
Drilled two 1/8" holes.
Used silicone tubing and silicone carto condom to make 1/4" wide flat O-rings.
Bottom of syringe has smaller ID which makes it easy to assemble; two O-rings bottom and only one on top of CE-2.
Looks pretty good but you could buy one that looks better I suppose.

They are constructed a little bit differently. Since the CE2 requires the tubing cut off (most of it anyway), you need a place for your drip tip. So, there is a metal tube pressed in to the top cap. That makes an E2 tank a bit longer than a DCT tank. Here's a photo. Those are CE2 MAP tanks (standard 5 ml) on each side with CE2s installed and the one in the middle is a DCT MAP tank (I don't have a carto in it right now, but I think you'll see the difference). Click the thumbnail to enlarge a little.

So pretty much the verdict is that these are not the same dimensions as a carto and to fit into a tank would require a lot of work only to make it a Vision Stone Tank carto... Damn.

A CE2 XL and a Dual Coil Carto are about the same size. It is that the metal tube has to be mostly cut off the CE2 to expose the wicks to the juice in the tank. The coil is on top in a CE2 - So the top cap of the tank has a piece of SS tube pressed in to it to insert the coil end of the CE2 in to and to insert your drip tip on top.

I think the cut CE-2 looks cool but I don't see any reason why a couple drilled holes wouldn't work as well plus be much stronger.

Slotted 2.4ohm CE2 XL (like in OP's link) from MVS in a SmokTech tank in the pic below..I pulled off the stainless tube slotted it with a Dremel style rotary tool near the top and bottom, washed it good and put it back on the CE2..put it in a 6ml SmokTech tank from the same site, filled and used it..I've done this with a bunch of tanks. One note it's a good idea to smooth the edges of the slots so when you're putting the tank on it can't tear the o-rings.

They're the same dimensions as other cartos, so yes punched/drilled/slotted/etc will work in a carto tank. The best part is you can cut up a tube and then just re-use that same tube on other CE2 guts. The way I'd do it myself is cut two vertical slots, running from the top of the bottom tank cap up to just under the silicone grommet in the carto

EDIT: too slow and too many tabs open again  Good example, Chrispy

Yeah, that's what i'm wondering, if the dimensions are the same as a DC carto, then why not just punch holes into it? My only fear is flooding and gurgling.

No flooding or gurgling issues with my drilled CE-2 tank.
Leak rate is identical to stock CE-2.
Very strong.
Pretty much a win win except for increased bulk.

I just thought I'd throw this out there for anyone who likes CE2's and is thinking about a tank system. The original MAP tanks do work very well once you get past the learning stage. I have 3 or 4 running at any given time. I have'nt seen them on sale for a while, but COV has some in stock, just the white delrin left, the black sold out. Just an fyi. MAP Tank Mods
