i never try the cotton but i think that cotton hairs would stick to the wicking part and even drop in to the coil and burn. Also the cotton from cotton ball would hold and absorb flavor more than help wicking the juice to the coil. just a thought

I have been experimenting with Q-tips ( cotton on both ends of small straw kind) Cut off at required length even if that means some will not have any cotton on it. Fluff up a little and insert with open straw end away from atty. Will update results.
Upon some futher reading, Some say vaping cotton- bad idea.
If I never return to update, you'll know not to try this.
But the idea is sound with the straw in the middle to help in the wicking of filler.
Ive been using the cotton from cig tubes for about 2 weeks and works very well. no burning, works very well.. you can get cig tubes in a case of 200 from any do it yourself cigarette rolling place or on the net. just do a search for cig tubes. Cotton balls would work too I assume pretty easily. Havent tried them. The cog tubes seem to be a little more dense............................................................. Beats the poly fill any day!
Here's a link to where I got mine http://www.pipesandcigars.com/cigarettetubes.html
