My stash of VTCs are old, they clearly aren't holding the charge they used to and they need to be retired from .3Ω-.4Ω coil duty and move on to flashlight duty. Also, I'm not a fan of the extra button throw of the flat tops compared to the AW 1600mAhs. It's not something terribly noticeable, but when you can switch right between the two styles I notice it, and prefer button tops.

I'm looking to give those Samsung 25R's a try, only I'd prefer to pick up the button tops. Anyone use them? I only ask because for some reason looking at a picture of them, the buttons look "fatter" than an AW, and thought just possibly it wouldn't fit in the Reo's derlin space for it.

Thank guys.

FD- you might wanna PM pdib. As i recall, he was an early proponent of some Samsung, just not sure if it was 25R. i think it was a button-top, tho.

Cool. PM will be sent. If he has the time to get back to me whilst shucking out his gorgeous woods is another story. :D

I only have the flat-top ones. They are good batteries and they work fine with the SO contacts.

Oh I'm sure they are fine batteries. Just prefer the button top because that comes into play with the Reo's switch throw. But like I said, looking at a picture it seems the Samsung's have some abnormally "fat ayus" buttons... so if they don't fit up inside the derlin, it's pointless.

Cheers

The last couple days, I've been using button tops in my Reos, instead of the VTC5 flat tops I'd been using. I do like the shorter throw of the switch better.

Exactly.. it's not a huge deal, but when you can switch straight between the two styles it's definitely noticeable, especially with button covers on. Stupid little details like how your thumb rests on top of it when firing... ahh the problems of a Reonaut; Very few and far in between, LOL.
