that was cool. Hubs did it for the 1st time with the thingy from IBTanked and that was quick and easy, no mess no fuss:)

I began using the "thingy" a couple of weeks ago. It DOES work. I kind of got a kick out of seeing the little bubbles emerge from the carto's holes each time I twisted the cap on and off.

When you use the "thingy" to prime, when would u know its ready? When the bubbles stop coming up?

A new XL carto in a 19mm tank will draw up about 1/3rd of a tank before it floods. If it floods you will see a little drop of liquid in the bottom of the thingy and you know you fiddled your thingy a little too much  thats ok though because a quick blow into a paper towel and then use the towel to clean up the thingy and you are in business.

I've only fiddled with my thingy a little too much just once. Since then I've been able to control myself and not make a mess.

Does the thingy fit the Smok tank?

Yes, both sizes of the Smoktech DCT will fit in the thingy. Any drip tip will need to be removed to fit inside the thingy.

________IBTanked XL_____Smoktech DCT_____Smoktech DCT

Length------45mm----------------45mm------------------------45mm

Diameter----19mm---------------20mm------------------------15mm

Capacity-----3ml---------------------6ml-------------------------3.5ml

*The smaller capacity of the IBTanked is due to the thicker walls of its pyrex glass tube.

I've done the tank fill like the video before...but I still like to fill the carto first with a syringe (needle top bottle). I don't pack it full..just squeeze and count about 3 seconds on one side then repeat on the other...watching that the juice isn't crowding the center post. I have the carto in the tank already...so after it's got some juice in it, I fill the tank to nearly full in the usual way and slide the tube down as usual. Then I prime some more by doing the sucking thing (with tip on) with the tank/cartomizer installed on the battery.

I also "prime" or do the "sucking on a straw" thing periodically while vaping...particularly with the 6ml. tanks.

I think the SYM and the tank refilling tools are almost indispensable. What great inventions!

A thingy has a special seal in the lid that actually raises the pressure inside of it when you screw the lid on. This pressure change cycling by putting the lid on and taking it off causes juice in a filled tank placed in it to be forced into the carto a little each time. If you live near a 5000 foot or so tall mountain you can do the same thing by driving up and down it a few times ;)
