I'm trying to decide between this ( I'm going to try to upload a pic) and the svd. What do u guys think? I'm using the new iclear 30s tank btw

Hi bigtmane;

I won't try to talk you out of buying a mech, but I just wanted to make sure you knew that with a mech you'll have a much smaller vaping envelope in that as the battery discharges, voltage drops, and you'll have no way to up the power to compensate.

I love mechs and own several, but in my opinion they are better suited to rebuildable applications where you have more control over the resistance of your coil, and can tailor the coil to suit your taste and vaping style.

I can't say that you won't like it; there are a few folks here and there that will run a "factory spec" tank and coil on a mech, but it's not that common (at least from what I've seen).

I also own an SVD, I would personally choose that over a Stingray for your iclear.

And to add more information;

The Iclear 30s heads come with standard resistances of 1.5 to 2.5 ohms.

A fully charged battery at 4.2 volts with a 1.5 ohm coil results in 11.8 watts.

That same battery with a 2.5 ohm coil results in 7.1 watts.

You can certainly change resistance to change the wattage, but again, let's say you like 9-9.5 watts for vaping, you'll only be inside that window for a short period of vaping on a mech.

Wow.. I'm glad I asked u guys.. that sucks. I would hate to run into that problems.. I want to get into rebuild ables but not right now.. In the future. Thankks! I didn't know it was called a sting ray. But w that info the svd sounds like a better option.. I just have to find it for a good price. In the store near me, it's like 90$, I'm not looking to spend that much at this time.
The coil I'm using now is a 2.1 ohm... I've been vaping at 8.5 with it..

Nothing wrong with the MVP2, I have one and it's a great mod!

The cheapest I've seen for the SVD was around $37 from fasttech.com. It won't get to your door quickly, but their prices are good.

I think KTec is right if your thing is clearo's then a VV/VW is what you need. Mechs like he says are more for the rebuildable sect that tailor their atty's to suit their vaping styles. Mechs are really cool looking but its best to get something that suits your needs. The SVD is great for a tube type design or as you are using an iclear30s you might like the VTR as a box design. But you would have to use the silly adapter or cut the ring off if you want to use bigger tanks and keep the look.

Yes. I've been checking out the vtr for a while. It's just expensive. The svd is a little more reasonable.
Thanks for the Hoosier plug! I've ordered accessories from them before I was really happy with the shipping! Thanks big time for that! I've been vaping for 6 months now cigs free.. but I just ask alot of questions because these mods and tanks are the only resistance I have from cigs! I appreciate the feedback!
