Anyone with a Joytech ego twist?

Hey maybe you can help me, I have two ego twists and when I vape the metal that wraps around the button area gets warm and even a little hot when I chain vape. Is this normal? I'm just a little paranoid with a wife and two babies in the house I want to make sure I'm being safe and the ecig doesn't blow up in my face while vaping. Thanks.

Depending on your definition of "hot", yes it is normal.

Mine is pretty warm right now and I just picked it up a few minutes ago. When I notice it getting hot-ish...I tend to slow down for a bit.

When chain vaping they certainly can get warm. If it gets any more than "warm" the battery is working in overdrive - its time to put it down for a minute and let it cool off.

I followed that rule and my face is still here unscathed - so far

Welcome to ECF! Is the tank you have a bottom coil tank? I remember mine getting a bit warm while chan vaping with a bottom coil down where it connects to the battery. On top coils, it would get hot by the mouth piece.

if it gets warm or even moderately warm is ok thats normal in a chain vape situation, but if it gets hot enuf to burn your finger then thats an issue... but by then the circuit board should be smoking

That's a good point. I would imagine BCCs add to the temp near the top of the battery

Using good old bottom coil drip atomizers 2.3 ohms

I use an eGo Twist with mini PT2's and when getting a "vape-break" at work I'll chain vape it for 5 minutes or so and it does get warm... the combo of chaining, a bottom coil, and an all metal tank cause this... the only issue I've ever noticed from it is that it tends to caramelize sweeter juices resulting in them thickening a bit- just need to clean out the tanks a little more often.

Slow down. Might try higher nic. Or, if it bothers you, have two ego's going with different flavors.
