Hello,

I am new to vaping, but I have been using ProVari and I love it. Now I am looking for ProVari of a delivery system, if you will. I have heard that from everything that is currently available out there today, Penelope is pretty much "the best" delivery system in terms of easy of use and set-up, reliability, and quality of the vape. I have also heard that it is more user friendly and provides a better overall experience than AGA-T2, Smoktech RSST and Phoenix rba.

Do you agree?

Where is the best place to buy it, the classifieds section? Is it in stock somewhere else online?

Thanks!

I had one but traded it. It hit nice and everything but was too tall for me, I prefer shorter setups. I wouldn't say they are easier or harder than most attys, you have to deal with non-resistance wire for legs. There's a bit of a learning curve with that, the silica is easier to deal with than mesh wicks. I've still got a couple of Odys which are basically the same but shorter and fatter. There are clones of both available now, I'd suggest trying them first before investing in a real one. If you don't mind the long and slim form of the Pene you might look at the Spheroid too, it's easier to setup and you can get comparable vape (some say better flavor). Scott does some really good reviews on these and a lot of other high end gear, check out his site.

What is the good site to look at the clones? Also, I have heard that cloudsofvapor has an e-mail sign-up page to get notified when Penelope is in stock, but I cannot find it on their site, I see only parts for it. Where is it? Thanks.

Penny is next on my list. Then the "fat" upgrade from KF.

I have the penny, the fat upgrade is on my list.

To the OP: The penny clone is not sold in america as far as I know so it ends up costing closer to a penny than it should. Either wait for it to hit here or hit the classies, I saw one go for 135ish the other day with extras. As for easy or not, it's one of the easier of it's type of rba's, not a lot of parts and the no resistance wire thing isn't a big deal.

Igo-L is a good start to building coils though. Wrap kanthal/nichrome around silica, attach to posts, that's it.

I will check classifieds when I get approved, but where is the pre-order/in stock notification e-mail sign-up page for it? I cannot find it, I only see parts for it? Is it no longer being made?

Not sure if it is still being made, you'd probably see an announcement in the clouds of vapor forum if they were doing another run.

For me, genesis attys are much quicker to setup; no NR wire required. As far as performance, it's as good as the coil you build. The nice thing with the pene over geni's is that there's no leaking.

They both have pro's and cons as far as set up. The penelope is actually pretty quick if the NR wire doesn't hold you up and silica is much more forgiving than mesh in my experience. I don't think twisting the NR wire takes any longer than either making/oxidizing or pulsing a wick. So it comes down to what you like.

The no leak part is a huge perk for me. I use the penelope on a sturm mostly, perfect pocket setup.

Totally agree with you on the pros and cons of both. I think why i've been using my geni's over the pene and ithaka lately are a matter of convenience. I think that yes, the intitial setup of both is likely a wash, time-wise, but I can re-wrap an ss geni wick with just a quick burn and re-coiling once it starts falling off. With the pene/silica setup it's back to square one every time - new silica, new NR/R wrapping.

Again, I love both setups. I can't say one is definitely better than the other. Really comes down to the quality of the coil built and a matter of convenience...for me at least.

I agree on the gg attys. First I had used the cobra genesis atomizer for about 2 to 3 months. Went through the learning curve but still didn't like I couldn't lay it down or anything.

Got into the GG attys and that is where I invested for my setups. As far as time to build, I just make sure I have wicks ready, then I just hit with a torch first, and wires ready, just bought TSAF+ so I can fuse my own wires, so building really doesn't take long.

As far as I know the ody and peny may not be done again, hopefully they will because they are great attys and smaller than the ithaka. I had to pick up my odys and penys in the classifieds. The ithaka I preordered from the december run. Right now you can preorder the ithaka until 5-22-13 at clouds of vapor if your in the states, and should get it a month or so after that.

Here is a review by Todd on YouTube: The Tsaf - Res & No Res wire joiner - YouTube

In the review shows the email address for Manolis, aka Diver. When I emailed him he got back to me in a bout a day with an email explaining about the Tsaf. I bought Tsaf+ which has a built in charger so I just plug in a mini usb cable when I need to charge it. I just got it Saturday, but so far has worked great and I have made about 15 or more wires, not counting the initial practice ones. The only thing is sometimes I have to redo it because the wire will not have a strong connection to the alligator clips, though that is not a device issue really. I paid about a 100 for the Tsaf+ including shipping. It took him about 3 weeks to make, he then shipped and it took about 2 weeks to receive. I paid about half first and then a few days before shipping I paid the rest and he shipped. Really great communication and helpful.

I have also heard of something called The Zapper, but I do not know how well it works.
