Both the Itaste MVP 2 and the Itaste VV3 have voltage regulation that is equivalent to the Provari.

The only difference is that on a Provari if I set it to 4.3V and I check the Volts on the Atomizer under load, it will be exactly 4.3V. No Voltage drop. The Itast MVP 2 and Itaste VV3 both if you set at 4.3 might put out a stable 4.1v.

They are either using excellent filters, or not using PWM. This has been confirmed by p Busardo who tested on Scilliscope and showed flat voltage pattern as opposed to the heavy waves of PWM.

Were they authentic Kicks?

Evolv Kicks have a flat DC signal because it uses a boost circuit, as does the dna 30 board. From what I understand the Cloupor Hana mod clone does as well, as do mods that use the SX350 type chips like the 7-22.

Seems like mod makers are finally ditching the crappy 33.3 chip and going for a flat dc signal in their mods. It's not just the realm of the Provari anymore, though it's still one of the best, most reliable mods on the market.

Thanks I am interested in 18650 only and not box shaped. The kicks you mentioned whats a high quality mod clone for these? I have had bad luck with the cheap nemesis clones.

There is another way. Did you buy Evolv's kick, or a kick clone?

https://www.fasttech.com/products/1...riable-voltage-kick-module-for-mechanical-mod

This one is the Kamry kick. PWM runs between 100-120Hz, much higher than the 33.3Hz the other kick clones put out. It's not ProVari smooth, but it's close enough for me. The 33.3Hz chips always produced a rough tasting vape to me.

Also, this is a neat trick I came up with. https://www.fasttech.com/forums/1646300/t/1283697/how-to-kick-any-mod-without-sacrificing-battery it lets you kick the atomizer, rather than the mod, which opens up the range of mods you can kick to any with a 510 connection.

Edit: It does tend to make the mod top heavy, especially with a heavy atty like the Kayfun or Heron.

I bought evolves kick based on the previous thread's recommendation. I think my VTR's run 700hz. But I'm in the market for provari/nemesis shaped vapes.

My problem with nemesis clones has always been the insulator/switch. The insulator wears down and just falls out. I'm going to try fat daddy's insulators.

My Nemesis is my least used mod. I know it gets a lot of love from people, but I find the locking ring to be an absolute pain. five or more complete turns just to set the mod down? No thanks.

It is super classy looking though. :)

If you order from Fat daddy, you might want to pick up the "Nemesis ultimate upgrade kit."

I've tried their ultimate upgrade kit, not impressed. I agree the locking ring is a pita.I ordered FD's insultators which might help.

I've got one nemesis clone with a hair trigger and one that requires 30 lbs of force to trigger. But I keep reading that folks get it set just right not to fire standing up with a KFL. So I have hope . I think part of the problem is variance in battery length and clearomizer threads.

But overall I love the form factor. Feel like smoking a cigar toss in an 18500 battery and it becomes a cigar.

rounding third and heading home...
the futura mod by nexgen-dna30 flat and smooth signal- what a provari would be if it used a dna chip and military grade aluminum instead of stainless steel. like most of the high-end vape gear you have to wait for it to be in stock....worth the wait, however. there aren't many tube dna30 mods with the build quality of a provari...maybe 3 or 4.....there are a few chinese dna clone mods out or about to come out. the clone chips have a flat signal but it remains to be seen if they hold up as well as a dna20/30.... there is no debate they lack the build quality of the dna20/30 mods....you get what you pay for....

Stalk the classies and get a used Provari. Very good deals do show up from time to time.

Provape just had some blems/clearance for $130 --- and that's not far off the prices of these other solutions.

Evolv in anything will be a very nice smooth vape as well.....the rest is pretty much just cosmetic or ease of use, with the either version of Kick being nice if you don't change wattage much. There are starting to be deals on Evolv DNA20 mods these days in the resale market too.

I know it can be tough to be patient, but my best recommendation is to wait and save a bit for the Provari. Not only is it the best mod on the market (IMO), but it comes with a 1 year (optional 2 year) warranty. And they'll fix your unit beyond the warranty for a very modest fee.

There really is no substitute for the level of quality and service you get from Provape. My vaping friends and I have thrown more mods in the trash than I care to remember. My Provari will be with me for a long, long time. Everything else I own sits in a drawer now.

The P3 should be out soon. It should be worth the wait.

I must have not been clear I own a Provari. I own an SVD. I understand better voltage regulation tech is getting cheaper looking for something in between in price.

I ordered the dna-30 tube, looks promising
