The Evic uses 100hz PWM and is much smoother than the other VV/VW mods I have used. Not quite as smooth as the Provari, but very good, and noticeably smoother than my VTR. Unlike some of the dna style products, it can also go below 5 watts and can go as low as 3 volts, if needed.

Good luck with your DNA tube!

    No you can't
Unless there's step up and step down regulation your device can only give you what volts are left in your battery. There are device's that have step up regulation like the DNA 20 or 30 but no step, to get both your have to look into the SX350 chip mods runs about $250.00 and up for pre-built device though you can build one yourself for under $100.00 it's not that hard they come pre wired your have to get a case and cutout the holes and battery holder.

DNA 20-30 step up regulation works like this, device will give you wattage based on volts of battery until the battery volts go below the wattage you set then it will regulate it at your settings.

Well.....yes.....but the OKR series and Raptor chips (which are used in variable Voltage mods) is a Buck or Step Down chip. These are used in the Duke, HexOhm, Double D box.....all two battery mods usually 3.3 to 6 volts at 50 watts or more max....but....these are Box mods...

And not really all that great if you're vaping anything above .8Ω. These boxes are made for lower Ω builds, not as general use regulated MODs like a DNA30 or SXxxx MOD.

Ask each of the developers of those MODs and they will all tell you the same.

Well.....I have used them at 1.6 and below and they are fine. Remember...they go to 6 volts.....this is more than enough to drive higher resistance coils. As a matter of fact...5 volts or so is great on a 1.6 build....

5 volts is 15.6 watts at that resistance....can even turn it a little bit higher....

    rounding third and heading home...
Have loved my Provari for 3 years. Bought a Sigelei ZMAX v5 in Feb. from a local shop for $79 (half the Provari's price), just for the looks (and the variable wattage as well as voltage).

My Provari's been waiting patiently for me in a drawer ever since.

i love my sigelei ,also...if they would just take a sigelei zmax v5 flat top and put a dna30 or sx chip in that exact body they would have the best mod ever- no need to keep hunting around. the new sigeleis with the sx chips are ok but not built as well as the zmax. they press fit the control heads on and they will give trouble down the line even from normal usage. it is a short waiting to happen....

Saw someone mention a Semovar earlier. If you're patient you can pick one up for a good price . Picked my first one up on ebay for 90 bucks.

The things that people all say about Provaris like "you just have to use one to understand " is kind of how I feel about the semovar. I've owned both and I absolutely love the semovar. To me, the versatility and performance of this is amazing.
