Ok Reo Mini is out for delivery. Is there anything special I need to do? I saw on youtube something about blowing out atties. Is this true of the Smoktech 1.7 cartos on Rob's site? I guess basically just asking for any little things that I might have missed. Do I need to fill up carto first or can I just attach and fill that way? Heck why not a step by step instruction moment. LOL

Most atomizers come with primer in them. It's not going to hurt you but, it doesn't taste very good. It's a good idea to blow as much as you can out. So a couple hard blows from the end you suck on with some tissue or something over the other end is a good idea. You're still going to have to vape through a little though. It just won't take as long.
I've never used anything but, atomizers on my Reo. However, experience from when I did use cartos says that you do need to fill them first. If you want to use them immediately, you'll do better if you get a syringe to inject the juice down in the filler. I get mine at TSC (Tractor Supply Company). This wasn't there when I was writing my last post. I stand corrected. I did say I've never used cartos on a Reo. I'm stubborn though. I'd probably still prefill.
Unless you bought prefilled cartos, they should come dry. If you bought pre-filled cartos, they are ready to use but, they may not match your juice when you start squonking.
I use cartos on my REOs rather than attys. You can fill them first, but several of use have found out that they seem to last longer if you just squonk from the REO. Either way is fine and will work. When I do use attys on my Bogger Box, I squirt a bit of vodka thru from the bottom to clean out any fluid the manufacturer uses, shake the vodka out, press in a paper towel to get the remaining vodka off, install and vape, I haven't had any problems doing it that way. No waiting!
With the Smoktech cartomizers just put it on your Mini, put on your drip tip, draw on it while squonking. You will hear a gurgle as the juice moves up the cartos. Stop squonking. Draw and vape. Only do a couple draws then squonk again.
When you draw do it slow and easy. At first you will need to squonk every four or five draws or when you get less vapor and taste.
Always pay attention to taste and vapor. It will become natural to you and is not a tough thing to learn.
Especially with cartos you do not want to vape and burn it. It is easier to keep wet than an atty.

If you choose to put the carto on the REO unfilled make sure you give it 5-6 good squonks and let stand a few minutes before the first fire. They need a good bit of juice and a little time to soak so you avoid the burnt filler hit.

There is no where for the air to do because of the bottom condom but this forces the juice into the filler so you don't have to wait. When the first 10 soaks in I add 10 more and blow down in again.
It only takes me a minute or a minute and a half to get the 20 drops soaked in. Then I put it on the REO give a tiny blind squonk and its off to the races.

Thanks for the info. I may try to do it without prefill once I get use the botle thing. I think in the beginning it might be best to make sure the carto is nice and wet first just because this is so new.
I think, if you mean the atties, you don't have to let them dry, you just blow out the factory juice, as previously stated.
By the way, I'm receiving my first REO SOOON! and I've learned a lot these past few days, just reading all the questions from you and the responses from the REOnauts. You saved me a LOT of typing, lol, thank you!
LOL hope you will be less confused then me. I'm still so dang confused. I know one thing the first 2 drags sure tasted wonderful and now I just don't know. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Make sure you are drinking enough. When your mouth gets dry you can't taste as well.
If you flood your cartos too much then it can't heat much and the taste will drop. Keep vaping it and the juice will go down. Or if that happens you can take off your atty and blow some of the juice out.
So are u saying that a flooded carto if you keep vaping it won't burn it. I totally don't think it is too dry if anything it is too wet.
The filler burns when there is not juice present. If it is flooded you might get some juice in your mouth. Also taste will be off. You can vape through it. They don't need to be soaked. I put mine on dry and squonk a bit while drawing. They last longer if not soaked.

If you filled it before you put it on, you should be able to vape about an hour before you need to squonk. If it's flooded, put a napkin over the battery end and blow through the other.

No that would be if you used atomizers like I do. Cartomizers are a lot more forgiving.
It's funny. I just got my wife to finally quit smoking and start vaping. I started her out on cartomizers. She's not getting a Reo till I get my VV reo though.
I came home Thursday and she goes, "Why's this thing vaping so hot?" I take a hit off it and it's dry. I ask her when she filled it last and she looks astounded and tells me she forgot she had to. I refilled it and it was fine. I couldn't believe she managed to do that without burning it up.- Status
