Anyone know if there are ways to reduce the prohibitive postal charges to ship from US to UK?

I love US juices. The most recent I'm loving is Pream by Ruckus which came in my zamplebox. Delicious!

So I find a store in the US selling it for $6. But the shipping is $24. Taking 4 bottles up to $51.

Any peeps know if there are ways to help reduce this postal charge?

Afraid the only way might be to buy those bottles in bulk and store them or find a UK retailer.

As for getting around postal charges they're controlled by the vendor so you're pretty much at the mercy of whatever they say the shipping comes out to.
You could try to find a friend within the US to ship to and then have them try to find the cheapest route to you, that might be an option.

If we were talking about anything else other than vaping items I might recommend a service like this:
How MyUS Works: Shop Online, Ship Internationally

But I have no idea if they even allow vape related items. That site basically gives you an address within the US that you can ship to and they will receive inspect and re-ship items to you at the lowest possible cost, BUT I'm not so sure they work with vape related items or stores that handle such items. You could try to give them a call and see what they say. I think you also need to sign up for a membership but I'm not 100% on the details of how it works.

I think customs charge is abit hit and miss. I got 180ml from mech sauce delivered to UK recently, delivery was $20 and luckily didn't get any customs charges. You will often find that the shipping is the same regardless of the quantity you order, so it will only be worth it if you are putting in for a big order ( and then you have to risk customs charges which can be extremely high )

not sure if it still helps or not

when i lived in UK a couple of years back and used to order from here USA and else where to help avoid UK customs import charges you just ask the seller vendor etc to mark package as gift

then the import tax gets dropped

so you can save a bit but still have to pay shipping etc

The postage you see from that vendor is what is charged by USPS, the vendor makes no profit from it whatsoever (I've bought from them previously and checked ;))

The juice you want is available here, www.vaporium.eu/ruckus-elixirs/339-pream.html , but only in 12mg - dunno if that'll be any good to ya or not.

Best of luck finding a European supplier :thumb:. Btw, have you thought of emailing the manufacturer and asking if they have a European distributor?

12mg is too high. I vape 0 mg. Yeah, posted on their facebook page a few weeks back and also messaged them. They are not very active on facebook so have never responded.

I realize this is not what you're asking, but Blue Dot has a vanilla peach yogurt that many people like, and which I think tastes more like cream than yogurt. It's reasonably priced (30ml @ $6.00 and 100ml at $16.99). The other reason I mention them is that they have free international shipping over a certain amount. It might be worth looking at.

yes,it works, a lot of people on the French forum seem to use that method with one of those" US adress-reshipping services ( Shipito seems to be considered the best/least expensive ) BUT it doesnt work out to be any cheaper at all.

The only thing it does is enable you to purchase items that normally cant be shipped internationally .By "cant" I mean that the vendor simply doesnt want to because as of now at least there's no reason why it cant be done.

Living in Europe,I too run into this problem regularly .

SOME vendors manage to offer really good, cheap postage to Europe through some kind of service that appears to give them discounted bulk rates on the regular USPS shipping costs. But very few vendors bother to do that, theyre pretty rare .

A vendor who accepts to ship with USPS First Class intl is pretty much the cheapest option out there....

PS : the old "mark it as a gift" trick doesnt work with customs anymore ;) ....
For ejuices the best option is to mark it as a 20$ value and contents as "vegetal Glycerin" ;) .This is what some vendors do though I never ASK.

The basic rule is that reasonably sized packages sent through regular USPS (except their new Global Express service) Priority or First Class Intl mail hardly ever gets "stopped" at customs.
Fedex,DHL UPS and ALL courier Express services systematically bring all their parcels directly TO customs (!) and so you will get charged 100% of the time : on delivery your postman will request you pay= Vat on products, vat on shipping fees + extra 20-25 $ BS "processing fee" charged by the courier co.!
Depressing :( .....

Ah, well there you go. I have no experience with either. I know someone who ships from the US to Spain this way and that's why I suggested it but as far as using it myself I haven't tried it, honestly I wasn't even sure they would allow e-cigs since alot of these companies have so many rules on what you can or can't ship.

Good to know! :)
