My supplier said they will be shipping today via DHL. Not sure if they are all SS or not yet. I suspect it will have a gold plated brass pin also from the pics.

I think the idea is to neutralize the potential for lead exposure. Could not for the life of me speak to the science involved though.

The 2:1 vinegar to peroxide mix will remove any lead on the surface. IIRC, you need to leave it in for ten minutes or so, mixing it around occasionally. But, the longer you leave it in, the more dingy the brass will look. Then if you polish off the dingy patina, you'll expose more lead. I think the mix is called the brewer's pickle.
