etymology: wife misunderstands what I said . . . . . and says, "patténouf? what's a patténouf?"
Immediately afterwhich, I/we decide: that's a pretty cool word. Needs a definition. . . . . .
definition: something that is either repetitive, or feels like it's repetitive by it's very nature. A phrase or action that, despite being it's first instance, feels like "that old crap again". ( -or- something that just IS that old crap again)
