The higher the voltage you use, the greater chance of particulate matter being released into your lungs...that matter is still less harmless than benzenes in burnt tobacco.

This is just not true. What particulate matter? The BVC uses more juice. This requires more watts/voltage. If you burn it then there may be more particulates. As long as it's vaporizing juice it's just better taste. Until it burns. You are supposed to be vaporizing, not burning.

I don't have a whole lot of experience, but in comparison to other BCCs I have found these BVCs from Aspire to be a little finicky when I'm putting them in my full size Nautilus. Often it takes taking it back out, wiping off the excess juice from the coil and base and trying again. Is it more work, sure, but the flavor and vapor are worth it to me. This has just been my experience. I hope those having issues are able to work them out because the flavor consistency when you get it to work is well worth the extra fiddling.

I've been so impressed that I have 3 mini's now. A consistent draw seems to be key for me anyway to avoid flooding. The flavor and clouds this thing throws out is amazing. I had guys at my local B&M tooting their drippers looking at my like "seriously"? What is that thing? I'm vaping on my Hana at 13 to 14 watts and couldn't be happier.

A lot of ppl have the real coils that have been checked out on the Aspire web site. They still leak or gurgle. Could they be just bad coils or a glitch in their tank maybe maybe not.

The coils that came with the tank were absolute crap, and I checked the tank was authentic. Whereas the two extra heads vaped heavenly. The 1.6 ohm coils work far better than the stock ones.

I have to agree with you. All the mini's I purchased came with 1.8ohm coils and they weren't nearly as good as the new 5 packs. Also seemed to read up to .3 ohms higher as well.

My new Hana clone with the Nautilus Mini filled with Trifecta...a triple vanilla custard. Happy dance going on here!!

OK, after hours of messing with this, some colorful language, lots of juice, and a few days of numb tongue, I think I have it figured out. Some back story:

I bought my Nautilus tank because of the great reviews, and the larger tank. Used it for almost a month with the included coils, and LOVED it. Replaced the BDC coils that came with it with a new BVC coil. The thing spit like a cobra. Flooded, gurgled, and I was drinking juice all day. I took it apart and cleaned it. I blew it out from the bottom. I stood it upside down to drain. I checked the authentication codes on the tank and the coils (checked out). I replaced the coil (maybe got a bad one). I opened my air hole up to the widest. I used lower PG juice. Tried different voltage settings. I looked at every thread on the internet for advice. I called Aspire USA (they tried to help). I emailed Aspire, and they were no help either. So, I embarked on a systematic approach to rule out different variables that could be causing the problem. I won't bore you with the details, but here are my conclusions:

The problem is actually the BVC coils themselves. Not because they're bad, they're awesome when they work right. But because we're not used to using a vertical coil. We need to retrain ourselves to vape with these things. So, here's what I found to work

Rinse and wipe out the entire tank. Use a Q tip from the bottom and the top to get out any juice and/or water
unscrew your coil. Use a papertowel or Q tip to wipe this out.
screw your coil back in nice and tight
fill your tank.
drip 2 or three drops of juice on your coil
close your tank (make sure it's nice and tight)
use your collar to stand your coil up on the counter, and leave it set for a couple of minutes.
Attach tank to your battery or mod
take two light and slow dry hits (don't fire your mod)
set your air hole to the second smallest setting
fire your mod, then pull.
These like higher voltage/wattage settings. Part of the problem is juice that's not getting hot enough when it goes through the coil, so it winds up in your mouth. Hotter coil equals more juice vaporized and faster.

*notes The BVC coils need to be pulled on more gently and slower than horizontal coils, at least until the coil is nice and hot. This tank is designed to allow the juice to enter the coil very easily (that's why we get more vapor), so pulling harder just pulls more juice, which can't vaporize fast enough, which winds up in our mouths. See the problem? So train yourself to pull more gently (this isn't an analog) and slower. You'll get a great full flavor vape with lots of cloud.

If you happen to flood it again by pulling too hard, open it up, wipe it out (blowing it out doesn't really work) make sure you take out your coil and wipe under it. And don't forget to take off your drip tip and wipe under it too.

Iaying this tank on its side for a longer time (say more than half hour) seems to allow juice to seep in under the coil too. Just take it apart and wipe it out before you vape. Better yet, don't lay it on it's side to store it. Use the collar as a base and stand it up. Also, if you leave it overnight standing upright, drip a couple of drops of juice on the coil before you use it again. A dry(er) coil seems to promote flooding as well.

***disclaimer*** All this is according to my experimentation. Experience and mileage may vary.

I had the leaking problem as well. Instead of screwing the head into the base first I had to screw the head into the upper hardware so it was nice and tight then screw the base on. It seemed so simple but it fixed all my leaking problems. I haven't had an issue since.

Mt full size nauti has been spitting at me like a crazy banshee since I got it. I got to the point where I made sure it was pointing away from me before I hit the fire button on my MVP2. I tried everything previously mentioned to try and stop this, adjusting airflow, voltage, wattage, different resistance coils, blowing through airholes, blowing through the tip before or during firing, reclining at various angles, sitting cross-legged, hand stands, praying to various gods etc

I got to VannyPak's post and thought what's one more far fetched method compared to my previous attempts? Totally solved all issues!!! Thanks so much Vanny. I still take very light inhalations or the tank still gurgles, but now it's not behaving like a dangerous snake everytime I fire it up! I may well post a new thread with this titbit if it works for other folk...

Vanny, if you're ever in Scotland you're due a drink!

I just wanted to drop by and give my experiences with BVC coils and why they leak. After about 2 days of loving the BVC coils i started to get the leaking issues. Even after taking my ce5-s apart and blowing the excess juice out it would not fix the issue. Higher watts did not work either. I think it's because the ceramic mesh inside absorbs juice much more quickly the more you use it. I completely fixed this issue by making sure the coil intake holes are not in contact with the juice when i draw. To do this i hold my setup partially upside down when i vape as if i was drinking a beer and i have not had any leaking issues since. The ceramic mesh gets plenty of juice when you aren't vaping.

Yes it is a little weird vaping like this but these coils are amazing. I never get vapers fatigue with them and i get full flavor all day long. Perhaps later down the road they will fix the over saturation with the wick, but this will work in the mean time.

I'm loving these coils too, but also had to change up my vaping technique just a bit to stop the dreaded gurgle. Since these coils wick so well and actually like the heat, I'm getting tons of vapor. I noticed after I hit and let go of the power that there was still a vapor cloud left in the chimney. With my aerotank's I never had this issue. After several uses I had condensation building up in the chimney, then it settled down on top of the wire mesh above the coil and then start to gurgle.

I found by just rolling up a small piece of paper towel and sticking it down the chimney, would absorb the condensation and the gurgle would be gone.

Now what I do is make sure I draw just a little bit after letting go of the power; not enough to draw more liquid into the wick, but just enough to clear the vapor out of the chimney, and it totally works. No more gurgle.

It's not has extreme as tipping the device up when vaping, but still seems to work great on my Mini and Silo BVC.

I believe I have discovered the problem. On the left is the coil which I have used for over 2 weeks with no such issues, on the right is the coil which began flooding from the word go. Notice the difference in the threading at the top, in particular. The left coil came with the tank, the one on the right came from a blister pack. and yes, I did verify the authenticity via the security code on Aspire's website.

I am thinking it is poor QC as evidenced by the picture that layer posted.

Bad QC happens sometimes, but that is kind of extra bad. I know they are super cranking the BVC's out since so many different tanks (not just their own) are using those coils, but it takes a 2 second glance to see 3 significant differences between the two coils. Top threading, wicking holes (placement height for sure and I think size too) and that almost shelf like area between the wicking holes and bottom threading.
